Lots to do @ the port- to the point that paid cruise line excursions are not required in order to enjoy the stop👍🏾

We opted for the Summit Tour Bus, rather than the train, which ended up being a great call! The bus makes periodic photo op stops- the train does not.

Also, the fog was so thick near the top of the Summit, that we would've seen none of what we saw from the bus, if we'd paid for the train excursion instead.

Plenty of shops, restaurants, a brewery, and the natural scenery is gorgeous!

Very nice little town! Can get the White Pass Train from here. Very clean and well kept with a nice shopping vibe. It's a 1/4 mile walk from where the cruise ships dock, into town but an easy flat walk.

Hands down, the best cruise terminal in Skagway. Wait, it's the only cruise terminal in Skagway. Not sure what else to say. Our ship docked, we got off and then got back on. 5 stars!

Probably the most photogenic scenery is at this cruise port out of all of Alaska. We were able to see a humpback whale in port the entire day circling around the cruise ship. There is currently damage to the dock due to a landslide, forcing the use of buses to transport passengers. Due to damage they can only support 1 cruise ship docked each time. I decided not to get off the cruise ship here.

C'mon now, $64 for a round trip to Skagway from Haines It's literally only a 30-minute ride ⛴️, so it's not far at all. You gotta make this thing cheaper, especially considering all the delays we dealt with...

Amazing little town in the last frontier. Can get there by car but most go by cruise boat. The train is the thing to do and it is a must. Amazing ride, and highly recommend. You can walk the entire town in roughly 10 minutes but you know that is awesome sometimes. Just a great place.

We came to Skagway twice doing a back to back cruise. Our first time in the port we did the train ride which was incredible. Our 2nd time in the port we did a hike to Goldrush cemetery and then came back and explored the town area. We rewarded ourselves for all the walking with a treat from Klondike Doughboy. The line was long, but moved quickly and was worth the wait.
