We joined Neil for a 11 day wildlife photography tour in conjunction with Wildlife Worldwide Travel (UK). It was an amazing experience, 100+ Humpback Whale bubble net events, Orca, Sea Otters, Grizzly and Black bears, Sea Lions, Harbour Seals etc. Throughout the trip Neil was excellent both at finding the wildlife and positioning the boat for photography. He is very knowledgeable and good company. Facilities on the Catdaddy are good and it was a comfortable voyage - albeit we did have great weather. I would recommend joining him if you want the best chance of seeing the regions amazing wildlife and scenery.

This is long overdue! My mom and I joined Captain Neil in early June. He’s not only knowledgeable and a genuine outdoorsman with a true passion for nature. … he’s just a genuine good guy! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him seeing a humpback whale, birds including an eagle and adorable otters!

Neil is a fantastic tour guide. He is passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife in the water, on land, and in the air. Each excursion is fun, informational, educational, and filled with incredible sightings of the amazing wildlife and nature in and around Sitka. He makes a conscious effort to be respectful of the whales and minimize stressors on the wildlife and the ecosystem, which is extremely important to me. I have been on two, two-day whale watching excursions with Neil. I would never consider using anyone else. The value and experience for the money is beyond worth it. The cost is no question for the countless incredible memories and once-in-a-lifetime encounters. I would strongly recommend A Whale's Song Expeditions ten out of ten times. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Our family of three generations had a blast with Neal. The booking was very professional and directions were easy to follow to find him from the cruise ship. The boat is a great size for 6 guests, we had plenty of room and appreciated the nice binoculars that we could use, the hot chocolate, granola bars, and the ginger chews for one of our group who started to feel seasick. There is a bathroom on board as well as plenty of inside and outside space. We were really lucky with some of the things we saw, but talk to Neal about what you want to see. When we went we were pretty sure that we would see whales, otters, eagle nest, and sealions (and we did). It was so nice to have a small group on the water and this was my favorite part of the whole cruise that we went on!

Neil was excellent. Booked his tour as an excursion from RCL Alaska cruise. Neil made sure we were back to the ship on time and even brought us back right to the pier
Our 6 year old granddaughter asked lots of questions and Neil was great to answer them all.
We saw lots of whales breaching , sea lions and sea otters

How can I begin this review. Simply stated, if you're looking for a tour in Sitka, AK, look no further than A Whale's Song Expeditions. Capt. Neil is incredible and truly embodies "above and beyond" for his guests. His kindness and demeanor is unmatched and I'm happy to say, I've made a great connection. Sitka is a beautiful place with wonderful wildlife and there is no better way to see it than with A Whale's Song. Capt. Neil worked with us every step of the journey from scheduling to the tour itself. He booked us basically last minute and made accommodations along the way for every bump in the road. This tour truly was magnificent beyond comparison. Thank you, Capt. Neil. We hope to see you again.

It was my boyfriend’s first time whale watching and our trip with Neil did not disappoint! Neil was incredibly hospitable and knowledgable, not only about the wildlife, but also the history and local geography. We lucked out and watched a humpback whale “showing off” for close to 10 minutes!! It was an experience of a lifetime.

We cannot recommend A Whale’s Song Expeditions enough to anyone visiting the Sitka area!

We saw whales! Neil was easy to communicate with by phone and email. We found him easily and the boat was nice & comfy.
It was great being on a small vessel & be able to move around. Definitely worth the trip!
