A friend of mine and I were at Baranof Wilderness Lodge from May 30 thru June 5, 2022. Mike Trotter and his team have every detail of customer service completely covered! The accommodations were fabulous, and the food, it's so delicious it's beyond compare. Our guides, Grady, Doug, Ellen, and Mike Trotter himself were out of this world! There are no words to thank them enough for keeping us fishing and entertained! The cook, Keith, and the staff including Mandy, Paige, and Amelia were great! This was my first time going on a full-service fishing trip, and I certainly want to go to Baranof Wilderness Lodge again! All I can say is WOW!!

After being stranded by our cruise line - we needed lodging and needed it fast! Unfortunately for us it was a big fishing weekend in Sitka. After a couple of hours and numerous calls to hotels that were fully booked - I reached Mike, the GM of the Baranof. Extremely helpful and kind. We needed two nights stay - Mike was able to guarantee the first night and began reaching out to other hotel owners to help secure a 2nd night for us. Mike came through in the end and was able to provide us a with a second night at their new property, which is under renovations. To us - Mike was a hero! The Baranof is clean, the staff is friendly, and I would never spend a night anywhere but the Baranof when in Sitka.

This might have been our best trip ever! The natural scenery and incredibly abundant wildlife by itself makes a stay at Baranof Wilderness Lodge something special. The fishing is exceptional with numerous different outing choices. Our group caught halibut, rockfish, salmon, dolly varden and cutthroat trout. The cabins are modest, but very comfortable and private. Without question, what really sets this place apart is the amazing service and personal attention. Every single member of the team went out of their way to accommodate our requests and assure we had an amazing experience. We can’t wait to return!

Had the pleasure of staying here several years ago. Mike and his crew offer a truely pleasurable experience. A once in a lifetime destination for fishing, awesome food, great company, adorable cabins, insane views and the most attentive staff around! If you get a chance to go, DO IT!

Truly amazing experience at WBL. Mike, Mandy, and the rest of the staff provide a 5 star experience of a lifetime. Keith's meals are always amazing, the fishing guides know their stuff, and I enjoyed every aspect of this experience. We caught our limit of halibut every day, plenty of salmon, shrimp, rockfish, ling Cod, and many more. I'd recommend this trip and am looking to make it back again.

Where does one start with such an amazing place. The owner run lodge is absolutely sensational! From the moment you step off the float plane you are made to feel so welcome, nothing is too much trouble. The guides and friendly and knowledgable, the food was excellent. Fantastic fishing and adventures to be had even if you don't want to fish all the time including the most amazing place and experience for a massage. The rooms are clean and spacious and all the gear is supplied. We liken it to 'adult day-care' - every need is met. Already looking at going again!

By far, one of the most beautiful places I have visited. The room was great, as it was, overlooking the water. Accommodations are very clean. I have stayed in 5 star resorts and by far this is a 6 star. I will call this resort a luxury resort in the wilderness with all the wilderness charm. ||We watched eagles catching fish and having their meal. Bed was extremely comfortable but I have to say, being in a place this peaceful will help anyone sleep. Mike and Sally win my awards as best host and hostess of the year. We were celebrating my birthday and when they brought out my special birthday hat, I was so surprised. Trust me, not your typical birthday hat. ||Food was wonderful. ||Staff were friendly and very accommodating to our very whim. ||Thank you all for an experience of a lifetime. ||Toni M and Patrick C

WOW. I can't begin to write how incredible this week long trip was. Even in the middle of the pandemic, Mike Trotter and his AMAZING staff and guides gave a safe and superlative experience to my family and I. The river trips, the ocean trips, the whales, the crazy amounts of fish on the hook, the food, the scenery, all were just outstanding. Look forward to booking again ASAP.
