Alaska Alpine Adventures are amazing. Their owner, Dan, worked with us from start to finish as I had a few odd requests (was trying to set up a surprise for my friend I was traveling with). We did a 10-day back country backpacking trip in Denali NP, and it was awesome. Our guides were through, knowledgeable, and super friendly. The food they prepped was delicious, and our guide, Shannon, even fearlessly faced down a surprisingly angry marmot. I 100% recommend Alaska Alpine Adventures, and if/when I go back to Alaska for another trip, it’ll be with them.

These folks are top notch. They love what they do, they love nature and they love guiding. I trusted them with my life (guiding me, a frontlander, into the wild) and they didn’t let me down. They were patient, empathetic and so much fun. I will always cherish the memories of my trip into Denali/Mount McKinley - whatever you want to call it. Josh and Shannon, our guides, were super experienced (which helped spot and mitigate any safety concerns) and super nice. The owner, Dan, is super nice and monitors all expeditions to make sure each client has a great experience - and will make right any concerns you may have. You simply cannot do better than Alaska Alpine Adventures. I’m going to hire them again very soon. They are the best.

My wife and I are huge outdoor enthusiasts. We’ve seen every National Park in the U.S. (save one) and explored a lot of the world in search of adventure… hiking, trekking, rafting, kayaking, biking, camping… you name it. We’ve been on three different trips with Alaska Alpine Adventures - dating back to 2010… the Arrigetch-Alatna Pack Raft, Basecamp Bears in Katmai and, most recently, the Noatak River & Great Kobuk Sand Dunes Combo.

Every adventure took us miles away from civilization into the heart of Alaska to experience a quiet, serene and untouched natural beauty unlike anywhere else in the world…with abundant wildlife at every turn. And while there was never a shortage of solitude, we were always in great company. Each trip was led by highly-experienced, super-professional guides with safety and good-times always top-of-mind. We were fed well with fantastic backcountry meals (made in-house at AAA by Chef Extraordinaire Aaron F). And we were kept comfortable and well-protected from the elements with top-quality gear.

From the folks in the backcountry to the those in the back-office keeping an eye on everything from afar, Dan and the entire crew at AAA run a top-notch operation … I would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone that wants to get out and truly experience the Alaskan backcountry.

AAA has provided my husband and I with some of our fondest memories--specifically, trips we took to Lake Clark and Gates of the Arctic National Parks. The trips have challenged us physically, making us feel proud of our accomplishments. At the same time, the level of planning AAA puts into its adventures, coupled with the experience and skill of its guides, left us feeling as safe as one possibly can while exploring the vast backcountry Alaska has to offer. Our trips--the food, routes, logistics, and gear--all were meticulously organized. For those considering exploration of Alaska's backcountry, you know the difficulties in every piece of a big trip, and you might also know the relief in having someone else handle each piece with careful consideration.
The routes have been crafted by the AAA staff personally. Each trip is unique and thoughtfully planned. The places you go are painstakingly beautiful and wild. On each trip, my husband and I saw no people, save our little group. What we did see--natural environments far removed from civilization--were astounding in their beauty and solitude.
If you love to explore; love to challenge yourself physically; love meeting new people; and love the great outdoors: you owe it to yourself to consider a trip with AAA.

I’ve been on several backcountry trips w/ AAA and I cannot say enough great things about their entire operation. They handle complex logistics gracefully and pay attention to every detail, and importantly, the staff and guides make you feel safe in wild environments and are always fun to be around. I’d give ten stars here if I could and I can’t wait to do another trip with them in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed two back to back, sequential trips with AAA in 2018, both basecamp/day hiking adventures. The first was to Backside Lake in Denali and the second to Turquoise Lake in Lake Clark NP. Both were spectacular, creating so many lasting memories. AAA does a magnificent job in choosing locations, managing logistics and safety and acknowledging the need for flexibility in Alaska where there may be no such thing as a "plan." Their expertise as an organization and the guides themselves were both terrific and professional. Above all, we had a lot of fun! That's the idea, eh?!
