My daughters and I had an absolutely amazing Alaskan vacation! Many thanks to Kathleen and Viking Travel for making our trip so very special. We rode the Alaskan Railway to Seward, hiked to Exit Glacier, cruised the Kenai Fjords to Hobart Glacier, rode the Aerial Tram in Alyeska and rafted the Placer River. We saw abundant wildlife, majestic views and stayed at first class hotels. Truly a trip of a lifetime! Viking Travel is the best!

This was my second trip to Alaska and my friend's "bucket list" first trip. Kathleen took what I told her we wanted to do and came up with a great itinerary for all of it plus more. We started with a few days in Juneau, took the ferry for a few days in Sitka. Then flew to Anchorage, train to Seward, coach to Talkeetna, then back on the train to Denali and Fairbanks, with a few days in each place. Last, but certainly not least, a road trip on the Dalton Highway to the Artic Ocean. Every detail was perfectly planned. We had a great 3 week trip!! Too many great pictures to select just a few.
My only suggestion would be to find lodging that included a free breakfast. Meals are so expensive!!

I had never used a travel agent before, but the process with Devynn at Viking Travel was amazing! She listened to our desires and planned things for each person in our family to have an amazing vacation. We had a great mix of nature, history, fun, relaxation, and physical activity. She also put downtime in the schedule and sent along materials to help us pick other activities to do. If you would like to relax and enjoy your vacation rather than plan it yourself, I highly recommend Viking Travel. Great communication throughout the process, amazing detail in the reservation notes provided, and easy access to a lot of future memories for my family.

HONEYMOON TRIP!!! Alaska has been a "bucket-list" destination for my husband, so we chose it as our Honeymoon trip. I booked us a camper rental from Anchorage for the first week, and we drove 800 miles through Girdwood, Portage Glacier, the Kenai Peninsula to Homer & the Homer Spit, and back. It was A M A Z I N G!!! I worked with Madeleine at Viking Travel to book our second week with a flight from Anchorage to Juneau then on to Skagway, Haines (with a rental car), and back to Juneau; we moved throughout the Southeast via the Ferry (AMHS: Alaska Marine Highway System) with hotel and/or B&B stays for a few nights at each stop. We also booked Whale Watching, Glacier Sightseeing, and the Railroad to the Yukon with Viking. Although I am very familiar with all of these destinations, I opted to use a Planner to help me book it because there are A LOT of elements where things could go wrong (i.e.: flights, ferries, hotels, ground transport, tours, tour transportation, etc.). I am SO GLAD that I did; and I could NOT BE HAPPIER that I chose Viking Travel for this work. Madeleine is very professional and extremely knowledgeable! She was also very accessible and responsive, not only during the booking process, but even while we were traveling! Folks, I HIGLY RECOMMEND Viking Travel; you will have no regrets. Since this sort of trip is (literally) "once-in-a-lifetime" for most, you will do yourself a great service to have someone on your side if anything "goes sideways" while you are there. Things happen, and if/when they do, it is SO GREAT to have a Pro right there by your side to "fix it" immediately!!! Kudos Madeleine and Viking Travel!!! We'll see you again for sure! I love working with Viking Travel! Not only are they the absolute best at putting together complicated travel agendas (hello traveling in Southeast Alaska), but they are also super friendly, professional, and quick to reply. I also really love when my travel plans are interrupted I can call them to sort out the re-arrangements which means I don't have to spend hours on hold with airlines. Priceless!

I went on a dream girlfriends trip to Alaska with the assistance from Viking Travel inc. Their agent, Ann, helped us have the best trip ever! She planned and arranged each activity we wanted to do. We stayed in wonderful lodging and had the best tour guides. Our travel arrangements were great. If I get the opportunity to go back to Alaska, this agency will be where I go first.

We had a very pleasant experience with the Viking Travel folks. Very competent and friendly. Melanie be went way beyond expectations in helping us. She arranged for a delightful lad, Caleb, to "babysit" our dog while we experienced a wonderful tour of the Leconte Glacier with Don Holmes on the MV Juno. (Incomperable experience with only three if us, alone at the Glacier!) When the Alaska Marine Highway changed ferries on our itinerary, Melanie negotiated an upgrade in our cabin. Many thanks to all the fine folks at Viking Travel!

I wish I could give the agency and Anne Volk a 10 star rating. With Anne’s assistance we had a wonderful two month Alaskan RV Motorhome trip from Michigan. She arranged for excursions to the Arctic Circle, gold dredging, and Denali National Park. Moreover, she made the reservations for our transportation of the RV and accommodations on the Alaskan Marine Highway. All without a hitch.

We went on 16 hour guided tours into the Arctic Circle and Denali National Park. Both tours were comfortable and well worth the time. They were great adventures.

The most challenging however was the Alaskan ferry system. We traveled from Whittier Ak to Juneau and camped for 5 days. She then arranged to reboard the ferry with the RV to Petersburg Ak. We again camped for 4 days.

Anne set us up with an two additional excursions in Petersburg that were amazing. The Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory Anan Creek and Tongass whale watching tours. Unfortunately, you will not experience these activities on an ocean cruise.

We then reboarded the ferry system to Prince Rupert British Columbia.

When I say Anne’s arrangement’s were flawless. They were. Matching the size of the RV to each ferry to the anticipated destinations could be a challenge. We were expected at every stop and with reservations. I did not know what to expect by driving the RV into each of the ferrys. It was a challenge to squeeze the RV in but the crew was very helpful. However knowing that we were expected and had reservations for both the RV and staterooms eased the apprehension considerably.

I would not recommend anyone travel to Alaska without Viking Travel’s assistance.
