Don’t make the same mistake I did. Most of these great reviews are for the restaurant, which is no longer open. We just checked in, which is done at their sister property down the road. Our room is on the second floor and is extremely hot. The windows are fixed, one piece, and do not open. They are aware of the issue because we were left with two small fans to keep us cool. One problem though, fans only move the warm air inside the room. Called the sister property to be moved to a different room that is not hot. All hotels by this owner are full. Front desk clerk called owner. Was told that new windows are on order that open, and also that they are having extreme hot days. NEWS FLASH! If your windows opened we could probably sleep comfortably tonight!!! It’s so hot in here and it’s going to be a long night…… So disappointed in this property. I paid for a room, not a sauna.

stayed here three times, rooms were good. There is no service at all because there is no front desk at this location so you'll need to go to the other location if you want something.

One thing that is good is that the small fridge actually has a separate and working freezer. The room had no microwave. 1/3 of the channels on the tv do not work because it's not in their subscription. wifi is okay but during one of the stays wifi only worked if we sat right at the door.

For some reason, the rooms we were in upstairs had windows that didn't open except for the small one in the bathroom. Normally this isn't a big deal, but we passed through there in July (2023) during that heat wave and the room was absolutely baking hot. ...it was so hot that i actually bought my own box fan to put in the bathroom window.

We enjoyed staying at The Colony Inn. It was very clean, well equipped, and the housekeeping staff was delightful! We stayed in the large 2nd floor Queen room. It was a very large room.|We also enjoyed the main floor sitting room area. It had many historic and vintage furnishings and decorative items.|We highly recommend staying here.

Check In was interesting to say the least. No email or info at the hotel specifying that you had to go three’ish blocks down the road to check in. When we called to find out why there wasn’t anyone site we were met with an annoyed front desk associate. She unapologetically explained that we needed to come “here” assuming we knew where “here” was and when we asked where the additional hotel was located we were met with “you don’t know where that is”. ||Once in our room we noticed the carpets were extremely wet, we let that go and tried not to track our shoes through it since the carpet is light. Because our feet were wet, we went to the bathroom to dry off, however we noticed we didn’t have one towel. so we called over to the sister hotel since there’s no one on site here and we again met with zero apologies but a “there should be towels in your room”, when I said there weren’t she offered that we come over to the other hotel again as she didn’t know where any towels were at our hotel and/or couldn’t come to help (and that if we could wait until late morning the next day someone may be able to supply towels then, but no guarantee of when they’d come). I ended up going down stairs and opening cabinets until I found some towels hidden behind a door in the womens public restroom on the base level. I’m in the town of Palmer for work not leisure so not being about to shower before a business meeting is not ideal.||There’s nothing quaint about this hotel, there’s zero customer service or amenities. The walls are thin and you can here everything. There’s a shared coffee pot and microwave upstairs in the hallway for those that need it and a cafe downstairs (not sure if it’s ever open).||Id recommended driving a little further out if you can do book something nicer and/or book months in advance so you get a good place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here on 07/08-07/09. The hotel has a lot of potential, but I wasn’t impressed. The comforters were old quilts, which could have been cute, but were stained. The bathroom was small and the tub was stained yellow. The furniture in our room was old, stained (especially the chair). The carpet not only in our room but the main part of the building as well had stains. The cafe/restaurant was closed and is closed indefinitely it seems. The staff was super nice and I can’t really complain too much as it was only $106 for one night. However, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have other options.

The food was very good! The lunch menu prices are fairly reasonable and for dinner. We had the French dip and crab melt with hand dipped onion rings, all yummy! And the corn fritters with honey butter, amazing! Service was quick and it was quiet. I would say this is a hidden gem in Palmer!

We found this wonderful place on Tripadvisor, it had great reviews so we stopped in. We told our server that we had to have our rental car back to Anchorage very soon and that we were in a hurry. We quickly ordered and the Chef indulged our need for speed. Wow! The meal was wonderful. Hubby had a steak and I had the seafood alfredo. We also had a mushroom appetizer. We nearly licked the plates clean it was sooo good. I think the appetizer was my favorite. But the entire meal was wonderful and they were so very accomodating to our needs. If I lived in Palmer Alaska I think I would eat here every week!

This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be comfortable, but don't need all the extra amenities. It's in a superb location in Palmer and reasonably priced. Laundry and ice available. We would definitely stay here again!
