Background: My friend and I stayed at this hotel for one night before our morning flight out of Fairbanks.

Airport Shuttle Service: They may already corrected this in their website and on other platforms but they do not provide airport shuttle service. I called in advance prior to double check and they confirmed that they did provide that service. Once we checked in, I asked them about the service and they said they no longer provide it. This is one of the main reasons why we stayed with them. Not the end of the world, so I asked if they knew any good taxis services and they handed me a business card, it was $50 for a ten minute ride to the airport!! $20 for reservation fee and $30 for the ride. Total ripoff! I’m not sure why they wouldn’t update their guests about that change and also connecting them with a taxis driver that is trying to up charge their customers.

Rooms- The rooms are spacious however, our first room smelled liked cigarettes and we found beard trimmings in the bathroom. So, we asked for another room. Our next room smelled and realized the toilet wasn’t flushed. We also found hair of all sorts on our sheets and bathroom. The pillows also smelled like sweat, I’m assuming they have thin pillow cases and don’t wash their pillows often.

Overall, Google says this place is 3 star hotel but set your expectations, it’s more of a 1 or 2 star hotel. The staff weren’t rude but I would say the airport shuttle service issue brought them down to a 1 star. The rooms were pretty bad and we were glad we only stayed there for less than 24 hours.

If you want your hotel broke into and your stuff stolen then this is the place for you! Located in a nice location but the hotel itself is a one star hotel at best. Second stay of the night and our door was violently opened against the latch catch several times until I spoke. Then the person slammed the door and vanished. Front desk personnel acted like everything was normal and that a random person having a master key was no big deal. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The room was extremely dirty. The bed in the first room we got was covered in hair. The staff was very nice and helped us switch to another room, but as soon as we walked in, there was a strong smell of sweat that lingered for two days. On top of that, the table lamp wasn’t plugged in, so we had to do it ourselves.BTW the wifi is so sucks. And the hotel only have two queen beds no kings bedroom.

It's an older hotel, but I've no complaints. My room was spacious and clean, so I didn't mind a little wear and tear around the edges. More than that, the place has more personality than the generic box rooms I've used elsewhere. The breakfast isn't fancy, but an acceptable choose-what-you-want selection of hot and cold items from cereal to sausage (there's usually one meat, so sometimes bacon instead). There's not much of a view, but it is next to a main road, which makes it easy to set out in search of scenery. WiFi worked fine for me, but I could not get closed-captions on the TV (there's a button for it, but it didn't do anything).

I had a “tech” issue with booking a room at another location. I drove from Wasilla, AK to get in 2am. I was tired, and ill. Thanks to Alex at the front desk, I gave up searching for a place to stay. I wasn’t too happy with the price for what I got. Service is great, and my room was clean. But the hotel has some pretty high prices verses what’s around here and what you get. Feel like I stayed in a building with heat in the Wild West. But thank you Alex! Clarion, you can adjust the prices a little lower.

I found the staff at the Clarion to be excellent. I mostly interacted with Kaz, Alicia, and Hack. These staff members were kind, courteous, helpful and made me feel welcome. They did everything they could to make my stay enjoyable. They recommended some local areas and coffee shops that helped to make my visit fun. The kitchen staff also worked hard to provide good breakfasts daily.

My flight was changed to arrive at 1:30 am. Their Check in ends at 3am, and Elisa at the front said we’d get marked as no show if we arrived after 3 and quit responding and answering when we asked what would happen with the other nights we booked and if we can hang out in the lobby. ||Unreasonable for people traveling for hours!

I had a room booked for the 12th and went there and was informed there systems were down and they couldn't see reservations. So I was charged and was not able to get my room or a refund. I WILL NEVER BOOK HERE OR TELL ANYONE TO STAY AT THIS PLACE.
