Oh gosh...where should I even start? This was the most disastrous and outrageous trip that I've ever HAD in my whole entire life. Never would I expect that Bridgewater Hotel would receive the number 1 spot by a huge difference from the others as the worst hotel of my life. Let's start with the itinerary of the events now, shall we?||||To begin with, since the moment that I called prior to my first flight to confirm my stay and add a note that we would arrive later that day and also confirm that a shuttle would be available for us, I was greeted with a passive aggressive tone from one of the ladies in the front desk telling me "wow wow calm down, you speak too fast", when nobody has ever told me that in my whole entire life. Despite of this tone and way of speaking to a customer who is coming all the way from Miami being extremely impolite, I decided to brush it away as I did not want to begin the journey that we had planned with so much excitement in a somber note. After arriving at the airport and picking our luggages (as instructed by their so-called receptionist), I then called them to inform that we were ready to be picked by the shuttle that they offered. We waited almost 35 minutes after a 12 hours flight, only to then be faced with the first unpleasant surprise from the shuttle driver, telling us that we had to wait for the next one to come and pick us up because apparently it got full pretty quick with guests from other hotels, and me and my fiancee were not part of this "list of 8" he furiously was speaking of. At the time, I was not going to let it slide for the sole fact that we were already tired and my fiancee was not feeling that well, and after arguing with him back and forth he finally let us in the shuttle. After arriving at the hotel, I told the receptionist about this super unprofessional and baffling experience, and instead of apologizing she told me that the driver wasn't at fault and that the shuttle took and prioritized guests at other hotels. Now, pardon me, but how do you even offer such a service that you're supposed to call hours in advance and then explicitly tell me to call just after we pick our luggages, only to then be told that we were the last on the list to be picked up?!?! This DOESN'T make any sense at all and is simply outrageous!!||||To continue, the asian lady who stays at the front desk during the daytime made some extremely racist remarks about my fiancee and her friend, as she told our other friend "what language do they speak, because they gave me an attitude before", when all we did after coming from an 8 hours long glacier tour, was confirming that we were guests of the hotel after being asked by her if whether we belonged there or no. ||||Afterwards, and which is the main incident which sealed the deal for me, was when during our last night of stay, me and my fiancee went very respectfully to ask if whether it was possible or not to leave a day earlier and be refunded the difference of that night's stay, as our 2 other friends had an early check-out. This girl, whose name was Josephine, shows up and starts taking "care" of our request. Everything seemed fine, until the moment that I asked her a simple question which is the most legitimate right of every guest who has paid his dues in full. I asked of what the amount that would be refunded to me was going to be, as I did not want to be surprised in the end by some unexpected charge from them, or being refunded a ridiculous trivial amount. After this question of mine, she snapped and started throwing a tantrum to the depths of psychosis, and no I am not exaggerating....She firstly told me that she did not know exaxtly, and I very politely asked her to just reverse what she did (making our check out a day earlier), to what it originally was. It was at this moment that she fully let go of the last bit of sanity that surrounded her and started acting as a person who suffers from severe mental issues and belongs to a psychiatric facility!!! She first tells us with so much attitude and in an angrily manner that she could do that, but she would have to charge us an extra 725 dollars, WHICH IS INSANE! How can someone because of their incompetence charge a guest the whole amount of their stay over a simplistic change that was requested upon hearing all the details that she provided regarding the refund? She was unable to change it on the system and started panicking and after being told to call the manager, she rudely told me "STOP TALKING" and looked at us as if we were hooligans, and told us "OH GOSH, how can I call the manager at the 31st, I feel so bad". Excuse me, but that's how hotels work Miss Josephine, and if you can't handle a simple thing of this nature then how in the world are you working as a receptionist on a big grand like Wyndham?!?! We were seriously shocked and told her that it's illegal to charge our card twice due to her lack of knowledge and that we do not give our consent to do so. This is where she fully lost it, and almost got into a fight with us, but instead of doing that she told us "have a good night" in the most aggressive fashion and ran away to the staff room without telling us of anything in relation to our inquiry and what her manager had told her. A few secons later we hear her screaming and throwing a big tantrum in the room saying "I can't do this job anymore". We were terrified. After all, how can we even feel safe knowing that a psychotic person with severe mental issues is allowed to work in the reception area? After a while, the other blonde lady that was on shift with her comes and doesn't give us any explanation as to what had transpired, and after asking her if whether the system was able to recognize the change and reverting to the original settings that it was so that we would not be forced to leave a day earlier until after we would speak with the manager the following day, her words were "just put the do not disturb tag in your door". This was such a ridiculous resolution that left me shocked. If the system still showed that we were supposed to check out the next day, then how does a sign prevent the janitors or the front desk from telling us that we would have to leave? And this was the last thing that we would want after going through that nightmare of an interaction with Josephine, just a few minutes earlier. A few hours later one of our friends goes in the lobby to ask for the names of that rude and psychotic girl, as we needed to know. As soon as she hears him asking, she comes out of the staff room and looks at him asking if whether we got a problem with her and looked as if she was ready to get in a fight with us all, until the other workers had to come and calm her down.||||Anyway, the night passes and luckily we weren't told to check out that same day. We didn't even bother going to the front lobby, and staid in the room the whole entire day, terrified that they would do something to us, as they all seemed to have mild-severe psychotic signs. I am not sure if this comes as a result of being limited to such a small town, or if that place is supposed to be the rehabilitation center to promote mentally ill people of the area to get back to the workplace.||||As we were about to leave, we call 10-12 hours in advance to have our shuttle scheduled for 11pm. Not only that they do not provide a shuttle, but instead they ORDER US A LYFT AND CHARGE US ADDITIONALLY WITHOUT EVEN ASKING FOR OUR CONSENT/PERMISSION, which is super illegal. Our stay was supposed to be 767 dollars, but instead we were charged 782 in the folio that they sent to my email, and they camluflaged it pretty well, as taxes and fees, but when booking I am pretty sure that that was the final price with all the taxes altogether. And unfortunately, this was not the end. The lyft was taking forever and we were already late to our flight, so I go and ask very politely as to what we could do in this case, only to be given a list of taxis and told that we were welcome to proceed with them as we wished, implying that we'd have to pay them ourselves. And as if that wasn't enough, both ladies started gossipping out loud as if they wanted us to hear in purpose of what they were talking about. I mean how much worse can the experience get at this point? Even a shelter has higher standards than this..... Oh and I forgot, as I was inquiring about solutions to go to the airport and asking to be connected with a manager, they start telling me that I was being hostile (this is very hypocritic coming out of the same lady who was extremely rude to an older lady that was locked out and was on the verge of death asking to be let inside the room upstairs, and the front lady's response being "this is no pity party" and then aggressively kicking her out of the hotel) and trying at all costs to not let me be on the line with her. This is illegal as every guest is entitled to at least talk with the manager on-duty when they deem it reasonable to, and this was explicitly written in the welcome paper that we had in our room too, but the staff declined at all costs. My fiancee was brimming in anger after hearing how insulting they were being towards me so I had to keep her calm and destressed.||||SHORT STORT DON'T EVER EVER GO TO THIS HOTEL, AS ALL OF THEIR STAFF LOOKS AS IF THEY CAME OUT OF A PSYCHIATRY AND ARE EXTREMELY RACIST AND BULLYING TO THE OUTSIDERS. And to the Wyndham managers: PLEASE HAVE JOSEPHINE FIRED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT AS SHE DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE THERE. And as I said earlier, the janitor was a way better customer service person than any of them, so consider a promotion for him.||||We are even considering to follow legal routes if there's nobody from the higher-ups/management getting back to us, as this was not the experience that we signed up for, and it literally tainted our whole entire trip. I never went to such depths in any of my hotel stays, so this should spesk volumes and accurately depict what MONSTERS and HEARTLESS people their staff is.

Value was great. That said, the room is tight for 2 people after laying out your suitcases; parking wasn't ideal, since the lot adjacent to the hotel was full in the early evening, which meant you had to go to the isolated & unpaved lot several blocks away; and for multi night stays, your room is cleaned every other day (for our 4 night stay our room was actually only cleaned once, after asking). There's no breakfast & the towels are skimpy. It is, however, clean and the bed was comfortable. It's a block from all the restaurants.

Superb hotel! The staff was super nice and very helpful, we had to stay one more night due to hurricane Milton. Room was big and clean, confy beds, big tv. Free shuttel from and to the airport. Plenty of restaurants next door and in walking distance from the hotel. STAFF WAS AMAZING!! |Thank you for all your help and kindness!

Positive: The knowledgeable, personable and friendly front desk staff. Negative: Yes, the housekeeping staff were not informed by the front desk staff that I extended my stay due to an early morning 1:30 am flight. They proceeded to enter the room while I was still in it.

5/5 Clean and Comfortable. Front desk staff were gracious and helpful. Gave good recommendations for food for a late arrival. Room was small but nice. Hot water and water pressure was only 3/5 - I have thick hair so this is important me. Nice toiletry products.

We needed a last minute place to sleep after a mess up at another hotel. They had room. Easy to find. Parking was convenient. Room was typical hotel room. Bed was really soft and has worn spots in the places people lay which was uncomfortable. The shower was the smallest I have ever seen, couldn’t even turn around. It was decently clean. Quiet.

When I arrived the manager who mans the front desk was upstairs taking care of something. She saw that I was cold from waiting 10 minutes (it was -18) so she was great and discounted my room.then later I went to buy a few things from the gift shop and she comped them! This is a fantastic hotel in tge heart of downtown fairbanks. I will always make this my hotel when visiting.
