We had an amazing 5-night stay at Taste of Alaska towards the end of December. We spent 3 nights in the log house and 2 nights in the main lodge, thoroughly enjoying both accommodations. Staying in the main lodge was particularly convenient as we didn’t have to bundle up for breakfast.

The log house offered a cozy, private space with a spacious patio and a kitchen stocked with basic supplies, making it easy to whip up a quick meal. The owners, especially Debbie, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Debbie made it a point to chat with guests during breakfast and even helped us connect with a local driver for a trip to Chena Hot Springs.

We also enjoyed visiting Paws for Adventure, just a short walk from the property, and trying out the snowshoes provided. The property’s location, away from the city, was its biggest highlight—offering stunning mountain views, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and, of course, the auroras. The aurora alarm was a thoughtful touch, allowing us to witness incredible shows on two nights.

While breakfast was basic, it was sufficient, and the overall experience of being surrounded by Arctic wilderness made this a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommend it!

The rooms are amazing and decorated with very interesting pictures and objects that have been collected throughout Alaska. The service is witty, funny, and excellent! And the location is just perfect. On clear days you can see Mt. Denali and if you come up here for the aurora, you will have the very best seats in Alaska to view it. The best and coziest lodge i have ever been in.

Perfect location and facility to view the northern lights. We booked our tour through Gondwana Ecotours. Couldn't have been more pleased with the tour company or the accommodations at A Taste of Alaska Lodge. Near enough to Fairbanks if you need something, but far enough out for the aurora viewing to not be affected by the city lights.

Best place to see the Aurora Borealis. Just got here yesterday and already had my dream come true. Kory is amazing. He made booking the lodge and the car seamless. Would definitely send all my friends here ❤️ and would totally return.

We absolutely loved our stay at TOA!! Cory and Debbie are amazing hosts. We stayed in the Spruce hose it was perfect for my husband and I. It could accommodate several more guests. The spiral stairs are a bit steep so that i would leave for more agile folks in your group.
the grounds are amazing and the "night watch" cabin is perfect place to go to look for the lights! i would never hesitate to recommend TOA to anyone who is looking for a place to stay outside of Fairbanks.

Thanks Cory and Debbie!! was an amazing experience

PS. the wood puzzle is the most aggravating puzzle in the entire world but well worth it in the end!!

Because this location is remote, it's great for seeing the Northern Lights. This B&B is a bit corky and decorated with vintage nick-knacks. We had a good nights sleep and the room was clean. We stayed at the Chalet above the garage, which we don't recommend for tall folks. It was a challenge for my 6' husband underneath the pitched roof/A-frame structure. The hostess and Kory are very hospitable, the wonderful breakfast offered plenty of choices, even for the most pickiest eaters. Excellent coffee!

Stayed here with Gondwana Tours - what a blast. Thanks to Kory & Deb for a lovely experience. Our room was perfect for us and we loved being notified when there was an aurora spotted. Got some great pictures, used your lovely warm jackets and pants (had our own heavy boots). BRRR was it cold out there, but the warming hut was welcomed in between events. Thanks again!!

It's a fantastic place to stay outside of fairbanks. The owner and his family are very friendly, and we're great to work with while I was TDY with the Air Force. I felt like I was back home at my grandparent's house in appalachia.
