This was a lovely place to stay! We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning and the super large room (#7) we stayed in! The double sinks and space was so luxurious for two New Yorkers! It is very clean and decorated nicely.
As far as areas to improve
I will say that I think the only thing that could improve here would be the check in process. We arrived early to an empty house until we met the housekeeper 10 minutes later and it was a bit of an awkward intro to be peeping around someone’s house to get in. I think it would be really simple to fix and just give a key code to the front door the day of check in via email or text, which would also make it more secure to have that door locked more frequently. We have seen other B & Bs do it a variety of ways, and weren’t sure what to expect but after that we really enjoyed everything!!!!

We stayed at House of Jade our first and last nights of our Alaska trip as a family of 3 with a 7 year old son. It was very convenient to the airport and the Botanical Gardens which we wandered around before checking on our first night. Located in a residential area, rooms were very large and beds very comfortable. The first night, we were upgraded to the absolutely enormous Master Suite and the second night we stayed in the large Redoubt Suite (though the bathroom size was small). Both had a ton of space to spread out. We had some very slight hiccups our last night with no extra toilet paper to be found and the roll nearly gone. We saw Krista only at breakfast the first morning so I felt that the hospitality was a bit lacking, though she was friendly when we did see her. I'm not sure who the breakfast hosts were our second night stay as they didn't introduce themselves but they did offer to make our son some eggs as he didn't want the quiche that was being served. I appreciated the always available snacks and drinks in the common space. I felt terribly guilty that our son had been up since 4am local time as we came from the East Coast and his body hadn't yet adjusted to the time difference. While he spent some time before breakfast began reading, he was definitely bouncing off the walls by 7am despite our best attempts to keep him quiet--the inn was a quiet spot so I hope we didn't impact anyone else's stay.||Excellent value in a very expensive city.

Krista is THE BEST host. The home cooked breakfast and other homemade goodies are amazing. We felt comfortable from the moment we stepped in the front door. Very comfortable beds. Krista helped us by providing a quick list of things to do and see during our stay in Anchorage. We spent one evening sitting out on the beautiful deck among the gorgeous flowers and herbs, drinking wine taking in the scenery. Krista made us feel completely at home. I strongly recommend this B & B to anyone visiting Anchorage.

What an absolute gem to find! I needed a room before flying home after 7 months of working through the Alaskan winter. I turned up House of Jade on a search, determined not to stay at the generic chain hotels overbooked by cruise lines in downtown Anchorage. This spot is wonderful! It's cozy, in a quiet neighborhood, so much more peaceful than downtown. The rooms are clean, well-appointed, spacious and they bend over backwards to make your stay special, whether it's packing breakfast for an early departure (that I totally spaced out on grabbing), or hilarious conversation over chocolate cupcakes, you will NOT regret, nor will you forget your stay at Alaska House of Jade. One of my favorite finds in Anchorage!

Extremely happy with the room and service I experienced at House of Jade. The house is beautiful and located in a residential neighborhood so you feel safe and out of the "industrial" area. I had to check out before regular breakfast hours so the hosts were kind enough to call me a taxi in advance, and left a wonderful bagged breakfast in the fridge at no extra cost. I booked the Susitna room and found it was large, bright and private. Host and staff are friendly and available while still giving you space and privacy. Highly recommend this place for fellow solo travelers still getting their bearings.

Great stay here! Krista and her staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast way exceeded my expectations as much of it is made in house and to order. Spacious rooms and the bed was very comfy. It was quiet and located in a nice neighborhood. I've traveled extensively and this is one of the best accommodations I've had. Highly recommended.

House was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I spent 1 night in a downstairs bedroom which was very clean,spacious and had a beautiful view. Krista was so welcoming and nice and made us feel at home. Breakfast was so delicious too! If you are looking for somewhere to stay, please consider this place. You won't regret it.
