This was our first time at a B&B and Forrest& Oscar couldn't have been better hosts! The home has a large deck that overlooks the Kenai river as well as stairs down to a dock. We ate dinner nightly at 9:30 out on that deck. The neighborhood was great for walks - we even ran into a moose one night! The location is centrally located and was a great home base.||||We were two couples so the set up was great for us - two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, along with a dining area. Forrest had breakfast for us each morning around 8 and the food was wonderful. They were understanding about us having an early morning departure for fishing or arriving later in the evening after a day of fun. Would return in a heartbeat!

Soldotna is the perfect base to explore the Kenai peninsula and A Rivers Edge B&B is the perfect place to stay. We stayed there at the end of our 16 day trip to Alaska and it was the most comfortable place we stayed. Wish we had arranged to stay longer. There are extra large 2 rooms each with its own bathroom. The rooms share a common breakfast area It is a beautiful location on the edge of the Kenai River. There is a dock with seating where you can fish or just watch the salmon jump. We even saw a bald eagle with a fish in its beak flying by! Oscar and Forrest are very friendly and are wonderful hosts. Oscar will show you all the animals he’s hunted over the years (they are part of the B&B area of the home). And Forrest fixes the most yummy Alaskan breakfasts including moose sausage. You can’t go wrong staying at A River’s Edge B&B.

A river's edge was the last place we stayed in Alaska. It was a perfect stop between Homer and Anchorage before we had to head to the airport. The room was large and had plenty of room for us and our daughter. Forrest made a wonderful, fresh breakfast for us to enjoy. Forrest had many recommendations on where to go for dinner and where to stop on our way back to Anchorage. Very nice, clean and easy to book.

My daughter and I stayed with Forrest and Oscar in June 2017. The room was roomy and very comfortable. Forrest made us breakfast every morning and it was delicious and started our day out right. They are in a very quiet area on the Kenai river which was beautiful. Fantastic stay and I would recommend their B&B in a minute.

Absolutely everything you would hope for in a B&B. Great Hosts! Comfortable and Spacious rooms! Fantastic hot meals for breakfast with awesome Coffee (even accommodated fiancé's request for decaf)! Our stay was spit into two sessions in July 2018 for a total of 9 days with a three day excursion in the middle. Visiting with Forrest and Oscar was an added bonus, very easy to get to know and very knowledgeable of the area.

A bed and breakfast on the Kenai River, less than 5 minutes from town on a quiet street surrounded by trees in Soldotna. Forrest is a wonderful host, making a wonderful breakfast each morning. She is engaging and accommodating to help make the most of your time. If your lucky the moose stop by for a visit. The Americana Room was one of the largest rooms we have stayed in.

"A River's Edge B&B" may be the BEST experience for a tourist or temporary resident in Alaska. This B&B is located on the bank of the world famous Kenai River about 100 feet away from a very quiet street (Daisy Lane) in Soldotna, Alaska. It is owned by Forest and Oscar Nelson, who are down-to-earth, gracious and friendly hosts. Clean, comfortable accommodations in a quiet, hardly any street traffic neighborhood assures B&B guests good sleeping in a very comfortable bed.||Forest serves a full, healthy breakfast to start your day, and will share (if asked) many Alaska experiences she and Oscar have had over the years. The property has safe access to the River on serrated aluminum steps and walkways with hand rails, and with a platform and bench located a few feet above the scenic River's surface for the guest's leisure, and good fishing in season.||The B&B is surrounded by a forest of spruce and birch trees (and Forest's prize begonias in summer) through which an occasional moose may wander. Sometimes during late May/early June, a cow moose with young may be seen in the B&B yard.||The cost of this B&B is very reasonable by Alaska standards, and its setting is ideal for an enjoyable Alaska experience. My wife and I have traveled Alaska summer and winter since 1986, and you will not find a better B&B for the money any where in the State!

I stayed at this location with my wife and another couple in august of 2016. We are going to come back and stay there again aug. 13-18, 2018. The owners are great hosts and we have a great time when we are there. This place is clean and comfortable. We keep it that way in return when we stay there. It is a great quiet place to relax and eat great. The prices are very reasonable. They love their house and it is really nice of them to share the other part of their house for the "great alaskan experience!!!" I would tell anyone to rent there in a heartbeat!!
