Stayed here for the weekend, great all around! Great people, great service, this is that old school style motel I miss from the 90s. We were out all day fishing so I never got to try the food! Next time though! Flew my drone out to see the coast was amazing during sunset.
I hope these people know they do a great job, very kind.

The owners were friendly and kind. They had a place to freeze the fish i caught. The only reason 3 stars instead of 5 is I booked online and it never said no pets. I get here and its a $100 deposit that they keep for having my dogs....Not sure of that? Bit expensive....On the other hand the owners wife is an amazing cook. If you get the chance the bar is very homey and relaxing. The room was clean and not to cluttered I love my rooms that way.

We had to be at Alaska West Air in Nikiski in the morning and so this was a very convenient place to stay, being a 10-minute drive away. We were a couple and found that the room afforded us ample space for our persons and luggage. There was a dining table with a coffee maker, as well as a fridge and microwave. It was nothing fancy but it was most comfortable and given the price we paid we felt it was great value for money. We should add that the management was very accommodating of our late arrival: we had initially told them that we would arrive around 11pm but ended up arriving close to midnight, yet we received a warm welcome with no hint of irritation at our tardiness.

Cold room. Old fashioned propane heater that set off the carbon monoxide alarm. Wouldn't want to stay here in the winter. Room was clean. But too much noise from the bar, but it's not summer yet. Wish the place had baseboard heating, would have been a better experience.

Great place to stay for work or vacationing love the owners awesome people friendly environment has breakfast in the morning made by miss rossana from scratch its delicious food during the week selected days has a bar with pool tables music and the rooms are great brand new beds it has a place you can see the beach loves beautiful over all recommended 100% local owners no big franchise

Manager was an awesome guy!!! We felt bad for him. Pictures on website that were used to advertise this place were extremely misleading. Should have known better by the price of the room. You definitely get what you pay for. Its old and the carpets were dirty. Room smelled. It served its purpose but will not be going back.

I travel all over the states for work and by far this is the best motel I've stayed in clean rooms everyday, fresh towels l,and not to mention the food is absolutely authentic and cooked from scratch the owners grant and rossana are the nicest people you'll meet,
You'll be treated like family not a guest I'll definitely be back

I stayed here for 4 nights and the best best part of the stay was the staff who own/run the place. They are friendly, efficient, responsive, unflappable. Which brings me to the flip side. The Place is really a unique place with a ton of local Alaska color. I really like it for that aspect. I was only in town to watch some summer league college baseball teams play 6 games in 5 days. I did not need a 5-star hotel or a lot of glitz. I required free internet; I hoped for a fridge and microwave; and a TV would be the frosting on the cake. The Place promised all. And the price was definitely right!||However. Kenai is in rural Alaska and it seems to be significant that The Place is on the outskirts of town. So, in my first room, I had almost no internet connectivity and what I did it was so slow you could watch paint peel for excitement. My internet calls continued to fail. My computer was almost at a standstill - it was so slow. In frustration, I asked if there was a room with better connectivity. And my new room #20 was right next to the router. If you are in town to go combat fishing and fall into bed exhausted every night, the internet will not matter to you. The fridge and microwave were in good working order and the TV has hundreds of channels.||There is a bar and restaurant [featuring Filipino dishes and burgers] on the property with multiple large screen TVs.. It is also full of local color including a stuffed bear and stuffed big big fish. ||||So, in summary, if you want to get off the beaten track for once in your life and try something other than a safe Hilton, The Place is the place for you.
