Front desk girls are absolutely amazing. Prices better than everyone else in town. Paige at the front desk was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, nice, patient and when I own a company I'm going to steal her from Custom Seafoods and make her Head of Customer Relations. But seriously, she rocks.

I'll add this was the only processor that actually picked up their phones when called.

4 stars only because they would not accommodate vac sealing my fish during their busy week even though I was paying a lot to ship with them and offered to pay extra for the convenience. Management folks were a tad on the grumpy side. But I understand it was a busy couple weeks for them during the big run.

Definitely go here and avoid other processors if your fish is precious to you , you value quality and appreciate effective communication!

These folks were awesome! I stood in a long line at Ed's by the river, they were not very helpful and just told me to get in the long line. I drove over here to Custom Seafoods, they were friendly, outgoing, helpful and took good care of my son and I. I'll definitely be having Custom Seafoods process and ship my fish in the future. Highly recommend these folks.

I had fish shipped back for we could not get it processed in time to take on plane. They could not ship on day we agreed due to some issue with printing labels, and they did not call me I had to call them when it did not arrive. So we arrange to have sent the following Tuesday. No fish arrived. I called like 4-5 times, no answer (yes during business hours in Alaska) left messages and no call back. Now I wake up this morning (I live in Austin, TX) at 6am and find the fish box on my front step. No notice, no updates or call backs and being hot this time of year of course fish not frozen. What a waste and would never use this place again. Not happy and cost me a lot of money. Go to Tanners, you will be better served!

Super professional, wonderful staff! Had a lot of salmon shipped it arrived sooner than expected and super fresh. Thanks to all the staff who were involved! Made my trip that much more memorable and fun without the hassle of taking fish on a flight home. Will be back in two years and look forward to doing business with you guys again. 5 stars across the board

Had an awful experience at this place. When we dropped off our fish in august they asked us when we wanted to pick it up. We told them it would be the following Sunday and my wife VERY clearly confirmed TWICE that they were ok with that and they said no problem. My wife and I and several of our friends drove over an hour out of our way to pick up our fish on our way to Seward only to find the place closed and not a soul in sight. Only a note on the door saying they weren’t as busy as they thought so they were cutting hours of operation. So I get ahold of them the next day and they agree to ship the fish to me but get this, when I get the invoice they tried charging me 80 dollars for the boxes to ship the fish in. I then had to call them back and argue with them for 5 minutes with a very rude young girl that eventually handed me off to her manager. After all this hassle almost all of our “vacuum sealed” bags were never sealed and now they are all freezer burnt. If anyone reading this is spending good money to get your hard earned fillets back home for you and your family to enjoy I strongly recommend staying clear of this place. I’ve never left a review anywhere before, that’s how bad this experience was.

Great place and service but way overpriced. Buy some ziplock at Fred Meyer and submerge your fish in the bag into water to seal. A box to ship and the freeze packs are available to buy at Fred Meyer

Been visiting and fishing in Alaska for 28 years. I will never ever bring fish or recommend custom seafoods again. I called today and they said they are open until 7:00 p.m.. I intentionally headed early and arrived at 6:15. When I arrived the door was closed and the sign said full, come back at 7:00 a.m. I went inside and they said they are full. I said well how come your sign says come back at 7:00 a.m.? I told them I just called and they said they are open until 7:00?

There are obviously several places to process fish. The manager who was in his office said there cooler was full and they are backed up. I said I just called and drove an hour to get here. If you were not excepting fish why didn’t you say so.

I have processed fish there quite a bit but this was my last. They were probably short staffed I am guessing. There is no excuse for poor service or poorly run business. The manager could have certainly been in the cooler or fish processing area and helping but he was sitting in his office?

I didn’t see any workers in the area to receive fish and the door was closed. Inside the office there was 2 young girls who said to come back tomorrow at 7:00? I said what? I thought you were full? No we just are behind and our cooler is full not our freezers.

I said why don’t you close earlier or put that on your websight or voicemail so people don’t try to come here?

This is a poorly run business and do not recommend.

Reply to manager.

Thanks for your response. Fortunately I was able to find other processors and they were priced less than you.

As a note. I was not the customer who pounded my hand on the counter and berated employees. You obviously have had issues with other customers. While on vacation with 13 other family members and 4 grandchildren this is a very relaxing and fun trip for our family.

As a business owner myself, I would not suggest you scheduling your employees to work shifts for 12-14 hours, especially if they are teenagers. Perhaps your management practices need review.

I would suggest your ownership review your cameras if you have them, to evaluate your performance.

Received my first shipment this week. Custom Seafood exceeded my expectations! There was so much meat on the king crab I was able to make crab patties the next day. I would HIGHLY recommend ordering from Custom Seafoods.
