We had an amazing experience at Orca Lodge!  Soldotna is an ideal base for exploring the peninsula, with easy access to Homer, Seward, and other nearby spots. The cabin location is perfect, right on the Kenai River and close to plenty of food spots. The cabins were comfortable, and the campfire area was fantastic—complete with a fire pit, grill, and incredible view. Best of all, you can fish right on the property with stairs leading down to a platform dock and a long stretch of the river. They even provide fishing rods and boots, making it super convenient. Highly recommend!

Had a great time at the Orca Lodge, easy access to the Kenai River front and great hospitality. The environment of the lodge and the community fire pit every night was awesome. The guest from all over the world were very friendly and it was great to chat about all of our catches and experiences throughout the week as well as sharing snacks and dinners with each other. Eric the staff member onsite was awesome and very helpful. I will be back to the Orca Lodge if possible every year. In all reality you could spend the entire time at the lodge and catch countless fish and have fun doing so.

My dad and I loved our trip with Orca Lodge and Fishology!||The lodge has a great location. We loved being right on the river and close to town. We were even able to cook some of the fish we caught on the grill! ||We did 2 river fishing trips, 1 ocean fishing trip, 1 fly out fishing trip, and a Kenai Fjords cruise. All of our trips were amazing! Lyndy did a great job communicating with us and answering our questions.||Our favorite was the fly out fishing trip. We saw lots of bears and each caught our limit of sockeye salmon. The scenery was beautiful. If you only pick one activity for your trip, this is what I would pick! ||We caught our limit on almost every trip! Our last river trip was the only one we did not catch our limit, but our guide really did put in the effort to try and make it happen! ||I loved that the lodge processed our fish for us. Eric came and collected our fish each day and took care of it for us. At the end of our trip he even helped us pack it up and load it in the car!||Thank you for a great trip!

We had the second cabin on the left at the bottom of the hill, Eagle Cabin. Cabins lined up in a row along the Kenai River. Two cabins to the left plus the fishing shed for working on fish and freezing catch. Stairs leading down to the water where they have a nice aluminum fishing platform and fish cleaning station, rods and nets. Going to the right were more cabins and the office. They also had a very nice eating/picnic area with gas grills, picnic tables and fire rings. Parking was limited. We were probably the last guests of the season. Went out for silver salmon two days with only limited success as the run was way off this year. Had a great day fishing for halibut and flounder out of Homer and a very good day of fishing the upper Kenai River for trout, catching grayling, rainbows and one nice steelhead.

Water views and sounds for days at the Orca lodge located right on the Kenai River. We could walk out our door and hear the sounds of the water and see the current going by. They provided all the supplies you needed to try your hand at fishing. Our cabin had two bedrooms and a loft. Felt very roomy yet homey at the same time. Campgrounds would have a fire every night with families cooking or just enjoying the fire. It’s a small group of cabins and over a day or two you get to know your neighbors. Very centrally located to grocery stores, restaurants and a laundromat if you need one. Our fish was vacuum sealed and packed by Eric for our trip home. We were able to go to Homer and Whittier on day trips.

Just spent a wonderful week at Orca with my wife, brother-in-law and his wife. We had a wonderful time and the fishing was great. All the staff was great, Eric the fish master and owners Mark and Lyndy. If there was ever a question about something they were quick to answer. The fishing excursions they lined up for us were awesome, Brett the river guide was a fabulous teacher and knew where to find fish away from the others and was very knowledgeable. The fly over back across the Cook Inlet was just as awesome with the bear viewing, along with the fishing was second to none. Our Halibut trip to Homer was as good as it gets. This was my third trip to the Orca and I would strongly recommend it, has it all and is my go-to spot when I come to Alaska. |Can't wait to book another Trip!

This was a trip of a lifetime! || Orca lodge was amazing, clean well maintained cabins. Mind you, they are cabins, a bit rustic with all the amenities. ||The staff was kind, friendly and attentive to our needs. The staff told us about a local food truck rally and festival. We sat my the campfire ring, and played cor hole. They set up three days of fishing for our group of 5 adult with Fishology. ||What a blast, we caught our limit of Hailbut in one trip. Then the next two days were river fishing for Salmon, and they were running! We caught and caught. The guides on all trips were knowledgeable and invested in our success.||We were exceptionally pleased with the fish packaging, a very reasonable rat, vacuum sealed and ready for our long flight home. ||We definitely will be back. There are only great memories to be made when staying at Orca Lodge. The Joanis Family

Just got back from staying at Orca Lodge for a ladies fishing trip! We live in Anchorage and have stayed at a few different places in Soldotna over the years. This was BY FAR the nicest place we've stayed! We stayed in 2 of the quaint little Wildflower Lodge Cabins which has a viewing platform and fire pit area with a panoramic view of the Kenai River. Rustic, yet updated, cabins with all the amenities, friendly owners, and fantastic location! Highly recommend.
