If you’re driving by and thinking of stopping in for dinner, don’t do it if there are any vehicles parked outside. Me and two of my friends came in at 6:00 on Friday evening. There were five to six tables seated inside and the porch was about 3/4 full. They had one waitress and one bar tender. We ordered our food early along with two root beers. Out of the total of two hours we spent there, we only got one refill of root beer (and only because we stopped our waitress and asked for it) before she told us they were out of root beer. I ordered a Bloody Mary shortly after ordering food and it was almost 45 minutes before I ever got that. The food finally came after about an hour and a half and it was terribly bland. The two beef rice bowls had no flavor at all and the chicken fried steak was overcooked, tough, and tasted terrible.

During our entire time there our waitress and the bartender walked by our table several times and just completely ignored that we had empty glasses and never once offered an apology or a reason for our food being so late. One time we even asked the bartender if she could put the TV on the Celtics vs Mavs game and she flat out said “that’s not gonna happen.”

After all of that we were charged full price for the root beers even though they ran out after only one refill and offered no discount or apology for waiting as long as we did.

We all agree that if we ever come to Alaska again, we definitely won’t be stopping at this place.

Been coming here for years. Several owners…different menus…. Beautiful building, log structure and property always.

This time service was “meh”, and food was “meh”. One Server on, should have been able to handle it with her 4 tables…We were a party of 7, so maybe her plate was full. She was super friendly and lovely….Just a few things missing in my opinion… like water refills, placing orders to the right people, splitting the check….All around a two but her personality bumped her to a three.

Food was a three. Nothing really stuck out except the jo jo potato's. Breakfast biscuits were “home made” but tasted like bisquick. The Steak sandwich is decent. Solid 3. Typical Greasy spoon fare for sure. And that’s not a bad thing at all.

This place has been a staple for our family as we all have properties and cabins in Caswell. Very interesting to see the changes over the last 30 years.

If you're in a hurry, this may not be the place for you. With that in mind, it was worth the wait! My kid loved the hot wings he got, and the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed our burgers. Their housemade root beer and ginger beer was absolutely delicious, and I wish I would have thought to ask for a ton to go. We had some crown with ginger beer that they also put a chunk of orange slice, which was soooo amazing. The jojos are the way to go as an upgrade for your fries, too.

My family stopped here for dinner en route to Talkeetna. Cozy vibes and our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable but the food was mediocre. Buffalo wings were decent but there was some plastic in it. Grilled cheese and fries were okay but incredibly salty. We also ordered a few other things, like the tortilla soup, and nothing was particularly memorable. Overall, not bad, but not our favorite meal we had while visiting Alaska
