My husband and I spent a night at the Lily Inn and had a great time! The house has so much history throughout. Our room was very comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water. Breakfast the next day was plentiful to say the least! The woman preparing everything was so sweet and accommodating. We also loved that the b&b was just a short walk away from great restaurants and the Delaware River. We had a fabulous time and would definitely stay at The Lily Inn again

We absolutely loved our stay at this adorable bed and breakfast. The rooms were cosy, comfortable, and spotless — the perfect place to unwind. Each morning started with a hearty breakfast that was both delicious and satisfying.

The B&B is nestled in a charming small town that feels like a hidden gem, and the warm, attentive staff made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. There's a charm here that chain hotels simply can't match.

We’re already looking forward to our next visit. If you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed!

First impression of this place was good; it's a nice, unique old inn, although it's not close to Philadelphia, requiring a minimum 45-minute drive, often longer due to traffic.

During our two-day stay, the structure showed its age, with shabby conditions, sticky floors in the room, and no hot water in the shower. The garden was messy and dirty.

The staff's professionalism was severely lacking. On the first day, breakfast was a letdown. The staff member in charge seemed unaware of additional guests, improvising a meager meal of scrambled eggs, two yogurts, and four strawberries. Despite apologizing and agreeing to our request for a 9 am breakfast the next day, she woke us up at 7:40 am to confirm and prepare it.

The next morning's breakfast was equally disappointing ans really poor as you can see from the photo with a ready-to-cook pancake mix with a dirty hot plate to cook it that we prefered not to use.

On top off it, the staff member took photos of the food on the table , including one with me in the background without permission, maybe to prove she did her job in preparing breakfast to the manager, so I had to ask her to delete it.

Given the complete lack of professionalism and the inn's condition, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Instead, consider exploring other options that offer better service and are closer to Philadelphia.

Fair warning, this may be a lengthy review.
This was my husband and I's 3rd stay at this B&B. This time around, we were EXTREMELY disappointed from the other 2 x's that we stayed here. I think new people are running the place, which in our opinion changed the vibe here. This may be a long post due to the issues I had. Before arriving I spoke to, I believe was the manager. I let her know that my husband and I are vegan. She said since it was short notice that they will try to accommodate our food restrictions. I don't see how this could be an issue because breakfast wasn't until the next morning and therefore, that was plenty of time to go to the store to pick up some vegan items. It's all about the presentation and experience for the guest, especially for the price of the rooms. When we arrived to check in, the trash was not emptied and the smell was noticeable from walking into the kitchen. The fruit basket on the counter had old fruit in it.
When we got to our room. It was clean but unfortunately it was not a good night's sleep. The bed was extremely squeaky so just getting up to go to the washroom woke the other person up.
Breakfast was to be served from 8 to 9 :30. I came down stairs a little after 8 and breakfast was not on the dining table nor was the light on. I made small talk with the person who was making a fruit bowl . She seemed nice but I don't think she's experienced. I said "good morning " and her 1st response was, "you're vegan, right"? We made a little small talk and I walked into the dining room. The light wasn't even on and breakfast was not served until 8:30. Breakfast consisted of bagels, a fruit bowl of pineapples with defrosted frozen strawberries that were wet and soggy, and another fruit bowl with whole apples. They could have at least be cut into slices. There was no jam, peanut butter or vegan butter put out on the table. My husband found some vegan butter in the fridge, probably from the last time we stayed there. Like I said, presentation is everything. I just feel like the person could have applied a little more effort, considering she shared with me that her father was also vegan for 5 yrs.Oatmeal could have been served and a nice tofu scramble with vegan cheese, with Avocado toast. There are plenty of options.
After so called breakfast, we went back to the room to take a shower. We noticed there was a used bar of soap in the shower. I forgot to mention that the outside garden was a mess. Some of the cushions were on the ground with the foam coming out. A chair was also, knocked over. If it was our 1st time there and we were taking pictures of the garden that would have also been disappointing to see such disarray.
I had to look back on our prior reservations to see whom I corresponded with before. Her name is Candace. I'm not sure if she is no longer at the Inn but she was wonderful. She made sure all our needs were meant. She even made a special breakfast she served us. It was to die for. It was warm cubed apples, sliced oranges with brown sugar, cinnamon and a cinnamon stick. She was very pleasant, professional and even though it was self check out, she was there to wish us safe travels home and to say hope she can host us again. Just because of that, we immediately booked again the day we were leaving. It's all in the details and hospitality. We will not return.

Exactly what a BNB should be! Quaint, historic, cozy, responsive, a good experience overall! Not just a hotel room.

Very nice place to stay. Parking was pretty easy, mainly street parking though an option of a public parking lot was available too. I appreciate the ease of how the check in and check out process was. I've never stayed at a true Bed and Breakfast before. I was there exclusively for business so I only spent one night there. I didn't have an issue with any noise from the street or other patrons. I got a text the day of my stay with information on how to get in, where the key, and room are in the house. Bathroom and bedroom were clean and it was nice and cool, the room had it's own ceiling fan and thermostat. Don't be startled as the floor creaks since it is a old historical building. It was nice that it was kept up in such way. I didn't get a chance to stay for breakfast, though it was offered that I could take from the grab n go items. Candace was informative and got back to me timely and efficiently. The area was a nice quaint downtown of about 2 blocks. The Delaware water gap is a 2 minute walk away and I got to see a beautiful view early morning.

We had to spend one night in this area. We weren't particularly looking for a b&b, but WOW so happy we chose The Lily Inn.
The moment you walked through the door, you knew that you'd found a hidden gem. Our bedroom had a 10' ceiling, the bed covers, mattress, and pillows were the best I've ever slept on (honestly). Breakfast was outstanding!!! Scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, juices, coffee and a great selection of baked goods. All served on beautiful tableware. The whole place was immaculately clean & the garden is serene.
Candice, you deserve a crown and a few gold medal s. What you do is outstanding. Thanks a million for making our one night stand out from the rest!!!
We know we'll be back,

My fiance Sara and I had the most amazing time at the Lily Inn in Burlington, New Jersey! The town is charming and full of great restaurants and bars, and the bed and breakfast itself was incredibly cozy. Candace, the host, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and the breakfast was absolutely outstanding. I can't recommend this place enough for its comfort, historic decor, and Candace's hospitality!
