The reason im giving Bonita Bowls four stars is because their bowls could be more consistent. There have been times where my bowls have been more filled, and times where it has been less. The service is fantastic, and i like coming here for it. The atmosphere is nice, good music set at a good volume so it doesn't become too distracting or loud, making a nice place to chat with friends.

First time here. I ordered two acai bowls, and they messed my bowls completely up. There was barely any acai in the bowls. A little acai juice soaked up the granola, and fruits do it was a hard granola crunchy bowl. Playa bowls (the best acai bowls) I was trying something new, and it never fails. The manager said she would email me and send pictures of my bowls and that I would receive two free bowls, but she never emailed me, and i never received any response. There were only two kids working yesterday, one who said she was the manager, so it was expected.

This is the worst experience I have ever had at Bonita ever and I used to work there. We ordered 3 bowls, 1 Bali and 2 Bonita with no coconut. I got one Bali and 2 Bonita with coconut (I’m allergic). It was too late to go back when we noticed. There was also little to no base and the WHOLE thing was just granola. Never again, the glen ellyn one is SO much better.

I’m a huge fan of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. But this place blew me away.

Coconut, açaí, peanut butter and granola and honey was mind blowing!

The staff was warm and friendly. The dining area and bathrooms were exceptionally clean.

Atmosphere is just right.

I’ll be back here many times, well worth the price!

Ordered “the Elvis” on Uber Eats - toast with peanut butter, bananas and honey. Pretty simple right? What I received instead was absolutely DISGUSTING.

I’ve attached pictures of what they posted online of what it’s supposed to look like … and then what I received. I am disgusted!
They gave me toast with banana sludge smeared on top. It’s so gross, not even edible that’s how disgusting this tastes. And a total scam to be charging almost $20 for this!

I can’t be the only one noticing the inconsistencies at Bonita Bowls in Elmhurst. Every time we've visited, in the past they’ve been out of waffles, which happens to be one of my son's favorites. It's frustrating, especially since it’s the only thing he will eat from there. They finally got that right and started having waffles each time we went in.

To top it off, I recently paid nearly $15 for a bowl that was, honestly, quite underwhelming. The portion size was small, and the overall quality didn’t justify the price. For what you’re paying, I expected more in terms of both quantity and presentation.

I’ve been hoping for a better experience, but at this point, I’m not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon.

They need to teach these young kids how to make a bowl. I paid $20 for one just for it to be more than half granola it barely had the base in it. Not to mention extra peanut butter and Nutella and I got almost less than my sister who didn’t ask for any extra. I’d rather go somewhere else at this point it’s disappointing. I’ve been coming here for a while with my sister and it’s not the same. I will say it’s clean in there.

EDIT: I’ve been a regular here for a while, and during my last visit, I was upset with what I received, leading me to leave a one-star review.

However, the Manager/Owner personally reached out to apologize and explain the situation. He clarified that while the portion may have seemed smaller, it was actually due to their standard portioning: 8 oz of Açaí and 8 oz of granola, with fruit on top. They had recently taken over new management and discovered that the Elmhurst location had been portioning bowls incorrectly in the past.

This explanation made sense, and I appreciated the courtesy of the call.

I still really enjoy the bowls here—my frustration was just due to initial confusion. If you’re wondering about any changes, I recommend speaking with their manager, who can explain everything in detail!
