We stopped at the Yentna Station a couple days before the Iditarod launched so there was a buzz in the air and they were gearing up for their busy time when we stopped in. We arrived via plane and landed on the frozen river. After we deplaned, a snowmobile with a rough wooden sled tied behind it picked us up and brought us to the Roadhouse. It’s solar powered and also has a generator for busy times such as these. They serve a few meals in the common dining room and also have a few choices for beer. Coffee is always free and it sits in a metal thermos on the counter--help yourself. They have some cabins for rent and a few rooms inside the lodge as well. Pure Alaska. Very much enjoyed it. It's very rustic-- the bed and breakfast rooms are inside the Lodge--kind of like "upstairs at the parent's house" and the cabins are wooden, rustic, small wooden, basic cabins outside the lodge.

We stopped during the Iditarod and despite the hectic environment were quick to pump our fuel and get us anything we needed for our ride back to Willow. Great service and nice people.
Hope to be back again. Thanks!!

Stopped there to buy gas on the way down the Yentna mid July. BS'd with Dan for a bit, talked to his son while he pumped my gas. Bought two sodas while I was there. It's pretty much a snapshot of what old school Alaska was. Worth a stop if you need to dry out or warm up.
