Friendly BBQ joint, we found it on our way back from exploring Dauphin Island. Stopped right before closing at around 4:45pm, ordered about 5lb of meat and finished 99% of it 😆 Very comforting. We tried full rack of ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The ribs are definitely our fav. Pulled pork is nice and moist. Brisket is a bit dry and probably needs a bit more seasoning penetration. BBQ sauce is tangy and flavorful. Take out only but there is a small area out front if you just can’t wait. Oh ya and coleslaw is delicious! Owners said they’ve been there for over 12 years! There is no words to describe how good barbecue is and their potatoes are so divine! Absolutely. The best barbecue I have had in the state of Alabama!! If you have not seen them yet, it is a must that you go asap😘

1st time eating here, we both had BBQ sandwiches, I had the jumbo and the wife had the regular. The meat was very moist and tender and not drowning in BBQ sauce. They have numerous rewards displayed they have won for their gumbo, will definitely have to try it next time. They looked closed but were open. They close at 5:00 PM

I grill/ smoke brisket and turkey breast along with the staples. Captain Frank has seriously delicious smoked meats and really good sides. Well worth the trip to the Bayou.

With a 4.8 rating, we couldn’t wait to try some great Alabama ‘Q. Sadly, this place was not it. Brisket was shoe-leather tough, zero marbling, zero bark. It tasted like it needed 10 more hours of slow smoking to break down the connective tissue and infuse the meat with fatty juiciness and flavor. Neither were anywhere in the vicinity. On to the pulled pork. It should be pulled to the side of the road and left there. Dry, flavorless, cottony texture. It suffered from the lack of being cooked low and slow. The baked beans were good, the slaw was decent.

2 slices of meat came on the platter for $12 with 2 small cups of slaw and beans, appx 1/8 cup each, plus a roll. Had the meat been edible, an ok price. I’d suggest stopping at the Citgo or Chevron and opting for the fried okra and alligator hush puppies along with their excellent coffee for $6.

I went by on a Saturday.. Everything pointed to them being open.. Even the sign on the building when I arrived at lunchtime.. Closed! Not a soul in sight! Was extremely disappointed 🙁 & to make the experience worse.. Was given a recommendation by the neighbor that took me to a seafood place right down the street only to have the worst meal I've had in a long time! Bad bad bad!

Great Pulled pork sandwich and the potato salad is exceptional!
The prices on the web site were not accurate but the meal was well worth the extra

I feel like this place is a hole in the wall. Whenever I'm in Mobile, I always try my best to visit! I probably had this for the first time 4 years ago and it's always as good as that time. I love it! It is filling and you can definitely share.
