Love this little gem of a spot in the midst of residential quiet on Mercer Island. Great service and the food is fresh and full of flavor. Several vegan options!

Visited Riviera Maya while in the area and had a nice meal. Wasn't blown away by any dish, but chips were tasty and the queso was well above average. In particular my margarita was quite good, but my tacos al carbon fell apart unfortunately.

We call this place The Sad Sombrero. We came here a second time because we figured it couldn’t have been as bad as we remembered, but unfortunately our memory served us well. It’s bad. If you consider this authentic Mexican, you need to travel more. The food is bland, cold, and falls apart as you pick it up. You’d think a quesadilla and queso would be hard to mess up, but they did their best. Also, there was a bug in my margarita. The atmosphere makes up for a lot, but unfortunately the food is a harsh slap of reality #sadsombrero

I went for dinner after I was told it was “the best Mexican food” I’ve ever had. I took it with a grain of salt as I’m from Texas and this is Washington. Over all the food was ok. Very onion forward leaving behind a strong flavor and smell in my car with the left overs. It wasn’t bad but price doesn’t equal product. If I go again it will be for happy hour. The bar area looks like fun.

We went there for lunch. We received our check, and it had dinner prices. No one said anything when we were ordering at lunchtime off the lunch menu. Over $50 for just the two plates, only. Approx $20 more than lunch menu. Pathetic. The food was just okay. It was just after noon, well within lunchtime. Really pathetic.

We love Riviera Maya, Juan, and the whole family! As a restaurant owner myself, I know how difficult it is and I'm happy that we have this gem on the island. We will continue to support this lovely restaurant and hope that they are successful for years to come! Thank you, Juan for the great restaurant you have built for us! Regards, Sara (allister restaurant)

Don't come here when the kitchen is close to closing. My gf and I arrived more than an hour before the restaurant itself closed, but the kitchen was closing a full hour before the restaurant closed. We ordered and the food came out alarmingly fast. The rice was undercooked, the beans did not taste good, and the chicken mole enchiladas were undercooked and did not taste good. It's better to turn away customers due to the kitchen closing soon than serve unacceptably inedible food. What little I ate made me sick the following day.
