A massive improvement over the last time we were there, 3 or 4 years ago. The room was very nice, spacious, and the bed was comfy.

The staff were super nice and helpful. The breakfasts were good.

We used the pool and enjoyed it. Along with the hot tub. We also used the fire pit even though it was cold in December.

We plan to be back next Christmas.

This place is stunning. Beautiful inside and out. Wonderful staff, food is great and the views are so peaceful.
My room was very large and very fresh. Bed was comfortable and the patio was a nice touch.
They keep the fire going late into the night.
The pool was really nice as well.

My experience was top tier. We stayed in an lake view king suite room on the 3rd floor. We had a marvelous view and could hear the waves crashing outside our balcony. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean, quiet and open late. The pub surprised us with a delicious heart shaped pizza. Scenic walks around the grounds were pleasant considering the seasonably warm weather. I would definitely come again.

This place was horrible. The service was bad and the rooms get so hot at night. The air conditioners are broke and the windows are nailed shut so you can’t allow any fresh air to flow into the room. The blankets are sandpaper quality and the shower was nasty filled with hair and unknown substances. The pool was ice cold and the hot tub was also cold. It was really bad quality. The workout room was awful. No bar for lifting and the tred mills were bad. The arcade room was small and smelt like a dumpster fire. All of the machines cost at least 1 dollar to play and the prize was definitely not worth it. The people at the front desk were so rude and snappy. The food here is really bad it is paper thin and it cost 11 dollars a person for some bad food. And the dinner here is worse. The meat that they cooked was undercooked and really bad quality.

Was here for a catered buffet. The salmon was good, so was the chicken, but thats all they really offered. Kinda weird to serve only meats and salad. By good I mean it was okay. The atmosphere was fairly good. I liked it big thumbs up. Internet was really slow.

The lobby and restaurants have been updated the rooms have not. We were placed in a room without a phone. A huge safety hazard. Hotel said the phone repair would be there the following week. Not an acceptable answer. Asked for the hotel manager and was told they don't come in on the weekends. Then was told the font dssk manager would be in at 11. I asked for them to contact me and have not heard from them. There were no closet doors in the bedroom. The soaps in the shower were extremely hard to squeeze out of the bottles to the point i gave up and my husband had the same issue, rooms badly need an update and deep cleaning. Not worth the price. This was the first time we stayed at a Choice and will definitely be the last.

UPDATE
The response from the hotel suggested I contact them to discuss the issues we had. I did call and left a voice-mail and got no response. My first impression is proving correct. Because they are the only game in town they are letting their standards fall. This hotel is a safety hazard and with no phones on the 4th floor they should have not put anyone in those rooms. If there was a fire we would have been unreachable. Obviously there revenue is more important than the safety of their guests!

The hotel itself was very nice. The rooms were clean, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a great shower, and had obviously been refreshed relatively recently. It was also very quiet, so it was easy to get a good night's sleep. I was able to adjust the air conditioning to my preferred temperature, something that's not always possible in hotels as they don't always allow you to turn it down to the level I like it. The setting is gorgeous: the grounds are lovely, and of course the hotel sits right on the lake so the view is beautiful. I was also able to take advantage of both swimming pools and the hot tub, because one of the days I was there it rained, so I appreciated the indoor pool, as did my family. The front desk staff was helpful.||Despite all of this, I can't give it full marks because of the restaurants. Eat someplace else. The day of our arrival we ate dinner in the bar and grill. The waitress didn't look like she wanted to be there, first of all. Secondly, despite the fact that it wasn't busy, it took a long time for someone to take our drink orders. We had to ask a woman who looked liked she might have been the manager to take them. When we got our food (there were only three of us), mine was missing my onion ring order, and my grilled chicken sandwich was very dry, as if they'd grilled a bunch of breasts ahead of time, then threw them in the fridge to be heated in the microwave when someone ordered a chicken sandwich. My brother said the chicken in his wrap was dry, too. When I asked our waitress about my onion rings, she said she forgot to put in the order, so she said she'd do it. I still didn't have them by the time we were finished, so when the check came and they were on it, I asked her to remove the charge. She then sounded surprised that I didn't want them anymore. The next morning, our whole group (seven of us, including two preschoolers, went to the nicer restaurant for breakfast. It also wasn't busy, which will be important. The menu was very limited, which was fine, so we didn't understand what was taking so long to get food. It was at least 20-25 minutes to get eggs and bacon. One person in our group only ordered a bagel and bacon, which came out first, so she gave her bacon to the little kids because they were getting restless. I've worked front-of-house before, so I'm very forgiving of service, but there really wasn't an excuse for it to take that long, since there were literally only about five other tables of people in the restaurant at the time, and, like I said, the menu was very limited (eggs, bagels, toast, pancakes, bacon/sausage).

We went for their Friday night fish fry, which was very good. They offer Old Fashions for $3.00, don't find that at too many places.
