Arrived just after 9 a.m. on Fri, Jan 25th, 2019, and the restaurant was void of any customers at that time. Several customers did come in during our visit though. We had the Shoney's Breakfast Bar during this visit. Our first trip thru the buffet was semi-disappointing because although the buffet was stocked with lots of choices, several items on the "hot" bar were very cold, not even luke warm. For example the eggs on my first plate actually seemed chilled, and I did not finish them. However we did observe them restocking the buffet with freshly prepared items, so our second pass thru the buffet was much better.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and our server Barbara was no exception. Our drinks never went dry and we were even offered a 'to go' beverage before we left. I've penalized this Shoney's two stars on this visit for not having a freshly stocked buffet when we arrived and for having to wait about 4-5 minutes for someone to come to the register to check us out upon departure. Staff were aware that there were two different parties at the register waiting and even yelled from the back that someone would be right there, but it was still too long to wait for a cashier in my opinion.

For the way it looks is old anyway dated the buffet looked like it was sitting for some time. The boyfriend got the buffet and he said it teased old to him. I stuck to the menu and got the Turkey club with fries. I can say the fries were really good I would come back just for the fries.

This place is dirty they have not touch the floor or wipe the bar down i give it a big fat zero if I was the health inspectors i would make them

Not terrible food, but it's not very good either. It kinda tastes like it's been sitting out to long. Pretty nice staff though, one of the waitresses had her first day when we went there and spilt a drink, but she was quick to clean it all up and try to make our expirience as good as possible. Generally very clean, even the buffet bar was next to pristine. Overall good experience but not the best food.

I used to have an unfavorable view of this restaurant until recently. Hadn't been there in years. I decided to give them a try again after about 10 years. Glad I did. Friendly wait staff, good food. Nothing bad to say about this place anymore. This is my 3rd trip back in about 2 months. They are doing a good job, good service all 3 times. Good food all 3 times.

Frankly, not so good. Food items were not being replenished on the bar...can't build a salad without lettuce. A person in our party ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and got grilled cheese.the cube steak was served with dehydrated gravy and the dessert bar was a major mass of mutilated something or other. Our server did her best, she can't be faulted for any of this. The place wasn't busy so that can't be offered as an excuse.the a.c. wasn't working well and just added to this negative experience. We were passing through the area and maybe that's a good thing.

My son and I ate at Shoney's in Oak Hill, WV today and the food was excellent, and well as excellent service.
Our server was Brenda, and she did an excellent job in taking care of us.
Everyone there is very friendly and courteous. Will definitely go back!!!!
