Two thumbs down!! I received my email confirmation on December 31, 2024 so off I went, a 75 minute drive to the JESSE STONE HOUSE BED AND BREAKFAST. I arrived only to be told THEY ARE CLOSED AND HE DOESN’T KNOW HOW I RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION. I turned around and drove home another 75 minutes. Did I receive an apology? HECK NO! IF I was offered a complimentary overnight, truth be told I would have declined as a review I read described the room as dirty. My suggestion, stay at a different B & B in the area; this was a total loser.

Owner/operators were very nice and accommodating. As bed and breakfasts go, the inn itself was also great - a beautiful old home in a nice neighborhood. Food was excellent and pricing was more than reasonable. Only thing that would have been nice is having the TV in the actual room, instead of an adjacent sitting room.
Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We booked at the last minute on a weeknight and found the owners to be very accommodating and helpful. This historic house is beautifully restored and decorated in Victorian style, with lots of interesting little touches. The bed was very comfy, and the bedroom was charming. We stayed in Sarah’s room — bathroom has a charming claw foot tub with a shower curtain around it, but next time we will probably stay in Jesse’s room with the walk in shower. There is a sitting area upstairs with Keurig and tv, so you could entertain guests other than in your bedroom. There is a lot of space downstairs too, and the owner said they have hosted bridal showers and other events there. The breakfast was tasty and our hosts were very talkative about the house and it’s history. Off street parking, a nice quiet neighborhood and walkable to town. We will definitely be staying here when we return to Watertown.

We were in the area for a family wedding in Oconomowoc, WI this weekend and had decided to stay in a B&B rather than a chain hotel. We’re so glad we decided on the Jesse Stone House. The house was built in the 1870’s, and it retains its charm to this day thanks to the previous and current owners/hosts. We had a very comfortable room and delicious breakfasts. I can’t think of a detail that was overlooked. Chuck and Pat were attentive but not overbearing - just what we enjoy. Loved the history of the house they provided. We hope to return to this lovely B&B.

We stayed at Jesse Stone House 2 years ago, and liked it so much, we decided to go back. We love the house; it is beautiful and clean and quiet. The hosts, Chuck and Pat are wonderful people, and they are knowledgeable about the area and the history of Watertown and surrounding areas. Jesse Stone is close to Madison and Milwaukee, and there are a lot of good places to see and nice restaurants to enjoy in the area. The breakfasts and Jesse Stone are outstanding, with everything locally sources and made fresh. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and the house is quiet and very nice. The beds are also very soft and comfortable.

Our stay at the Jesse Stone house was absolutely perfect. The room was beautifully furnished with period furniture and the bed gave us a comfortable night's sleep. The attached bath had a relaxing claw for tub and the next morning we were served a delicious full breakfast. Pat and Chuck were great hosts. We would definitely recommend this B&B!!!

I love staying at B&Bs. If this had been my first B&B experience I would never stay in one again. My bedroom was very dusty and cluttered. Literally every surface was covered with clutter. I actually lost my keys two times amongst the clutter. I don’t have the best eyesight, but even I could see the caked on dust on the wall hangings and items on flat surfaces. My room had two sinks - One in my bedroom and one in my private bathroom. The bathroom sink had caked-on (soap?) (toothpaste?) when I arrived. I used a plastic knife to scrape it up (didn’t think to take photos before I cleaned). My photos include grime around/behind the bathroom faucet and the cluttered flat surfaces. This B&B needs a DEEP clean and to remove clutter from flat surfaces. Some CLR, elbow grease, small crevice brushes, and making room for guests to place a wallet, purse, health/beauty items on a flat surface would make a huge improvement. Lastly, if you are allergic to dust mites, this is NOT the place to stay. I tripled my allergy meds during my two night stay. A note about the owners. I arrived after a nine hour drive. The male owner immediately started to give me the grand tour. I clearly communicated I was exhausted and needed to enter my private room to visit the restroom. He slowly continued with the unwanted tour and I was “allowed” in my room about 15 minutes later. Obviously not the best listening host (or maybe a male ego thing?). The female host was nice.

We were excited to see this beautiful historic building as we drove up! Stepping inside assured us we had made the right choice. The house is amazingly furnished with every piece of fine China to antique furnishings you could imagine. Chuck and Pat are so accommodating and they went to the extra trouble of meeting our dietary needs. The food was fabulous with warm breads in the morning, fresh fruit served in a crystal goblet! They made us feel so pampered! We sat on the beautiful front porch with Pat and watched the day turn into a delightful evening of conversation watching neighbors passing by walking their great dogs! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a great size to accommodate suitcases without being in the way.
Thank you both for the memories of spending time in Watertown.
