The hotel was clean and well-maintained, with a welcoming and friendly staff. We stayed over the weekend and had a great experience. The breakfast was delicious, offering a good variety of options. The swimming pool was large and spotless, perfect for a relaxing swim. We also enjoyed the hot tub, which was a great way to unwind. Overall, a wonderful stay!

I loved this hotel. Staying during off season meant it was very quiet on a Sunday night. The room was very clean and the front desk was very helpful when I had questions. The only small drawback was the need to drive into Galena to explore downtown. But it's not far, and get there early if you want a good parking spot.
Nice pool and workout room.
Complimentary breakfast was very nice.
Make sure you also take in some sites and History around the Galena area. On my way out of town I drove up to Thunder Bay Waterfall. Beautiful in the Winter.

What a gem! Huge lobby. The pool and hot tub were the biggest I've seen at a hotel this price. The breakfast was better than most. The staff was very friendly. Our room was large and very clean. The king bed was very comfortable and I loved the down pillows. We will be back, for sure!

We were in room #126. This room is absolutely beautiful, your fitness room is very clean and all the machines work great. The pool and hot tub was perfect. The complimentary breakfast was great, the employees are so hospitable, and nice. The spa was amazing! Thank you so much for such an wonderful experience.

5 stars is not enough! Where do I begin! From the time my wife and I walked into the door, we were impressed! The facility was super clean, the staff was incredible especially Betsy the owner and Michaela at the front desk. They were accommodating in every way. The rooms were cleaned daily and our every request and needs were met! They even wanted to make sure we did not have any issues with their holiday celebration, as it was close to our room. The vibe was very friendly and almost a family atmosphere with the staff! If you get a chance, STAY HERE!

I wish TripAdvisor let you give half stars. The Galena Wyndham is nice enough, but a couple things didn't feel right. It’s not 4 stars, can’t do 3.5, so they get 3.||GOOD|- Friendly front desk and staff. We called the morning of our arrival and they were able to accommodate and early check-in. Whenever we talked to anyone they were friendly.|- Breakfast was pretty good. Wish there was a little more variety on the hot food options. During the weekend they had Obrien potatoes, fully-cooked fried eggs, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The weekday breakfast was scrambled eggs and then a rotation of sausage, bacon, and ham. – wide variety of continental breakfast options, cereals, breads, etc. They actually had an automatic pancake maker, but I never tried it.|- Amenities were kinda neat. None of us tried the in-house spa. They have a game room/casino with 6 multi-option gambling machines. Various denominations but it looked like the maximum payouts were like $1000. No big progressives. The gym was nice enough. Also, they have a sort of mini-convenience store adjacent to the front desk selling snacks, ice cream, energy drinks, and microwable meals. Bonus points for a town that goes to bed early. |- Room was nice enough, bathroom was modern. We had a nice view out the window onto the field and lake.|- Bed was nice enough.||BAD|- The room layout was strange. The microwave and coffee machine were located underneath the counter which kept me from even trying to use them. In order to use either you’d need to get down on your hands and knees. I’m not even sure how you’d be expected to get water poured into the back of the coffee machine.|- Barely any storage space. There were only 3 drawers in the entire room, which is low for a room that’s advertised as a King Suite. There are two small drawers beneath the aforementioned coffee/microwave setup, and then a 2nd small drawer beneath the closet by the entrance. Not enough for a family or room of this size.|- Maid service – I really hate to criticize maid service when I’m sure the gals are already overworked and underpaid with unreasonable expectations. But we only received service 2 of the 4 nights we stayed. And when we did have service it wasn’t completed. Ex: Used breakfast silverware and discarded plates were not taken away. There is a sign that linens would be changed if you stayed more than 3 days. We stayed 4 days and linens were never changed. Disappointing.||We have stayed at the Country Inn & Suites next door. This is of similar quality. We’ll be back to Galena and would likely return to a competing property depending on the price.

Staff was very helpful , nice clean rooms . Easy access to down town plenty of shopping and dining , most places open would suggest coming Wed. thur the weekend . They have a gaming room to go to , spa if you need unwind , nice swimming pool and hot tub . Always someone available if you need something . Pretty good free breakfast in the morning as well .

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel a few different times when we visited Galena.

The staff for some reason are almost never at the front desk and you have to wait for them to come from the back and they always seem to be in a hurry to wait on you. Once they hand you your keys they're back off into the back again.

The rooms are super nice, remodeled and offer a lot of nice options. The only downfall is the thermostats on the room are preset and it was locked so we were not able to adjust the temperature in the room. We turned the fireplace on to warm it up in there.

Silverware or plastic utensils would be a nice option/offer especially since there is a little mink kitchenette in the room.

Otherwise everything is great.

There is also a spa located in this hotel and we had gotten couples massages there on the past and wanted to this time as well but we sent several messages through the website asking for someone to call us back and we never received any response.

This hotel is located right on the edge of town and right off of the highway and is extremely reasonable price wise.
