The service was great. But the food was inedible. I get things can happen on days to throw things off, but it seemed like a breakdown on the part of the cooks.

The fried items tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed in a while. My fries and the onion rings my friend got tasted like chicken, which isn’t the worst thing in the world. But it left a film on the back of my throat that stuck with me the rest of the night.

The meat smelled like burnt hair. It seemed like they cooked it a week ago in a batch and microwaved it to reheat it. I took 2 bites of it but it was so bad I couldn’t eat any more. I paid for a meal I took 3 bites out of and went and got a frozen pizza after.

The owner might want to change up how the kitchen does things. This was the worst tasting food I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

Great food, great location, and love the decor. Food is fresh and filling for any meal of the day. Only complaint is the aisles are a bit cramped for two way foot traffic. Skillet and pancake shown in review

"When it was not crowded during the Birkie week, it meant something", said by my fellow after we shared the dinner here.

Got hot beef with gravy sauce, toast and veggies of the day. The gravy sauce was too salty to taste something else, beef was dry and veggies of the day was...canned corn and carrot. Although the waitress was very nice to us, food was just unacceptable.

We were in Hayward for the Birkie. We called ahead on Wednesday, as we we had 9 adults and 2 toddlers. No problem seating us when we arrived about 5 p.m. After several minutes a male server asked if he could have some of menu's for another table. No problem, but he never came back to take our order. Several times he passed by. Three other tables were seated and ordered. Finally a lady server asked if we had been helped. She said she would tell our server. A while later she came again to check, very obvious we still had our menus. She was very kind and said once she finished delivering some food she would take our order. Meantime, those three tables that came in ordered, got their food and left. After she finally took our order we did get our food. All of this took 2 hours! It was not her fault, it was the male server who never acknowledged us after taking some of our menus for another table or two. We were very disappointed in the service. Considering we had two toddlers, they did very well. We realize we did have a large group, but considering other people were coming in, ordering and leaving before we even got our food, that is not acceptable.

Had ribs and meatloaf with our three kids. We all enjoyed our food! The waitress, Katie, made our experience five stars. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a five star dining experience. She was very friendly and attentive.

I had to go to the restroom. I told 2 waitresses to leave my food while i went. Made a point to let them know i was not leaving just restroom. I came out and my enyire breakfast was thrown away. God Dam . They acted like no big deal. One of them was going to give me new breakfast. Like i want another meal. The could have offered next time i came free. But no . Then instead of giving me a half price since they threw half my breakfast away. No. They charge me full price after their mistake. I go there fairly often and things are fine. I could understand if it was busy, but very few there. I am not a review guy or poster, person. But this was stupid and did not get handled well. I will not go back for a long time. And i am warning everyone . Do not leave your spot they will throw your meal away. Gene Van Enkevort.

This is the most disgusting, unappealing, horribly ran restaurant I have been to. We where told to have a seat by a lady who and she would be right with us. She never came, instead another waitress eneded up coming over after 10 min. Everything in here is dirty, sticky and gloomy. I would not recommend this place to my enemy's. Please do not waist your time and money. McDonald's would be a better option, heck I would take a Lunchable over eating here for free.

Hi owner, I see that you reply to reviews. This place is def NOT cleaned nightly. That fly trap has been up there for a LONG time. I have been to 100's of restaurants who open their doors 100 times a day, they don't have this issue. You have a double door for God sake. Not to mention what is hidden in your booths. Please be better, nobody should PAY you to eat like this. Let's not talk about the pest that live in place, we will leave that part alone.

Great food and service. Even the other customers were joking around and laughing with the kids. Highly recommend!!!
