I have been traveling to Hayward for years. This place used to be great. For whatever reason, maybe more individual cabin ownership, not sure it has really gone downhill. The quality and cleanliness of the cabins is bad. I stayed in cabin 11 last fall. The cabin porch had never been cleaned off or swept free of any debris or leaves for what looked like months. The cabin screen door, had no handle, the had put a rag in the hole to serve to open and close the door!

We just returned from a great week in cabin 1. The cabin is charming and has the cozy up North feel. The view of the lake from the front room is beautiful! The beds were very comfortable. Loved the fireplace as it is getting cold at night. The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed cooking in a lot of the nights. We appreciated the COVID precautions in place with all the linens. |We had such a nice time and hope we can get back up to Hayward soon!

My husband and I stayed at the motel for 2 nights during the winter for a snowmobile trip. Motel was super clean. I loved the wood decor. Coffee pot, mini fridge and micro in the room. Not very insulated so you’ll want to keep to a soft roar in the room. As recommended we brought extra blankets. Heater is warm but a little loud.

I've been to this resort 3 times l, and have had a great experience every time! The cabins are always clean and neat! Love the decor used in each of them with their own touch if nostalgic artifacts. Having access to the pontoon during your stay is also a bonus as you can just take it out as you like without having to set a schedule. Would be nice if you could travel between big and little round with the pontoon.

The cabin was nice and clean and in a good location. It fit our needs very well. The ice fishing rental (not through the resort) was substandard. The "guide" didn't have the shack ready for us the first day, the generator didn't work the first day and he didn't check on us once while we were fishing. Fishing wasn't good but that's fishing.

Grand Pines resort bought the resort I used to visit as a child. Other than the new cabins, which are phenomenal, everything else around seemed untouched! All the memories from my childhood came rushing back as soon as I drove on the property. It was amazing. We had the best vacation week. I was in heaven.

We went to Grand Pines Resort in Hayward WI and stayed Thursday May 20 - Monday May 24 2021. The cabin we stayed in was #30 on Little Round Lake. It was a adorable cabin overlooking the lake. It was well decorated with a very back woods cabin feel. Included was full use of a fairly new pontoon. It was a virtual check in, never had to meet anyone. We were texted the first morning that we could check in an hour early. Very nice! We got there right at 3:00pm and the cabin was open. Due to Covid, we were asked to bring our own linens and towels. That was to be expected. When we got there, Dane, a very nice young man came and went over pontoon operation. He was very friendly and helpful. He pointed out the areas on the lake to stay clear of. He also got fire wood for us and stacked it under the deck. ||||Unfortunately, there were two draw backs. One, major. The two recliners in the cabin were old and very uncomfortable. Once you put the footrest up, it was very hard to get them back down. One of them you had to climb out if to manually push it down. And one of them smelled, I'm not sure what of, but it did. They should definitely be tossed. Lastly the bed. It was so uncomfortable! You had bed springs sticking in your back, hips and everywhere else. The first two nights neither of us slept well. We finally went into Hayward to Walmart and bought a mattress pad. That made it tolerable. I only bring this up because not getting a good nights sleep can ruin a vacation. Considering the price, you expect to be somewhat comfortable with the furniture. I would go back in a hot second, if I knew I wouldn't have to sleep on that bed again.

stayed in cabin #1 last full week of September 2019.||First thing is there is never anyone in the lodge check in store.||If you need help with something you have to try and explain it over the phone.||We had trouble accessing the free Wi-Fi and management said to just keep trying until we found one that works. ||Also the living room fireplace did not work at all. The management knew it and has known it for awhile I guess. Has had two to three people look at it and no one could fix it. My question is why we were not told of this when we reserved the cabin?||Didn't want to scare us of I guess. They then offered to move us to another cabin. Which would of taken a good portion of the day since we had already unpacked for the week. To repack then move and unpack again in another cabin would have eaten up a day we had other plans for. Why not be honest and let us know up front that the fireplace did not work. Then we could have made another cabin choice at that time. Did they think we wouldn't notice it wasn't working? ||Also the cabin has a strong musty odor to it and the water is unusable for showers and drinking, cooking and more than anything the jet tub. Unless you like the smell of sulfur and having to carry in all your drinking and cooking water like we had to. ||Place is also not very clean. Cobwebs, dusty floors and a kitchen table so sticky you could use it as a fly trap. Totally disgusting. ||If you look at the photos for cabin 1 on the website it shows a very welcoming warm and nostalgically decorated cabin. Not the case at all. It's mostly full of nail holes where there used to be nostalgic paintings and collectibles on display. That'a all gone.||Watch your fingers if closing or opening the sliding windows on the enclosed porch. The windows are so shot that they are hard to move and then when they do open they are just as hard to get closed. The old style stove is gone. The fold out couch/bed in the living room is the most uncomfortable couch I've ever set in. And the rest of the furniture is getting to the point of needing to go to the curb for trash collection.||For the cost of staying here it is far from worth it. I would stay away from these deceitful, money at all costs people if I were you.
