Everything at Alaska Sportsman's is top notch! The lodge experience, the food, and the flyouts to fishing destinations. Everyone who works there is so friendly so the atmosphere is really comfortable in addition to being top notch. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to go on an Alaskan Adventure but still wanting to come back to great food and accommodations.

If you want the top notch fishing experience in Alaska there is no comparison to Alaska Sportsman's Lodge. As a successful businessman, I know how important the details are and ASL does not miss anything. We went for our second year in 2023 and feel like the staff are part of our family. Don't settle and book with this quality fishing lodge while you can.

The location is stunning. The lodge and cabins are rustic with modern finishes. I have never experienced better customer service. The staff actually knew our names. All staff were enthusiastic about their jobs and ensuring a great experience. They were sincerely smiling at 5:30 am all the way until 10pm. The food was delicious, we did not have the same meal twice. The portions and courses were enough to feed the biggest appetite. They offer cocktail hour, appetizer hour, and dinner every night. The sauna was perfect to warm up or for contrast therapy, if you have the courage to jump in the cold river. The spa cabin was super relaxing and Miho is amazing at trigger point massage. Each of my mornings started at 7:15 for the flight out to the fishing destination. I felt safe in the float planes and I had confidence in the pilots. Then 6-7 hours out fishing and lunch. Then we got back in time for cocktails. The guides were proud to have earned their spot at ASL. They all knew the terrain, the rivers, the fish, and equipment. The guides brought lunch and packed our choice of drinks. They taught me several types of fly fishing and we even used a spin rod for bit. The guides explained why we were using the techniques and how it helped catch the fish. Jeff did a thorough job matching the type of fish we wanted to catch with the type of activity and scenery we enjoyed. All the staff was great but even now that we are home serval have made their way into our stories that we tell the family. Glady, Nick, Bernie, Jeff, Ellie, Miho, Brittany, Maddie, Mitch, Mike, Owen, Quinton all made lasting impressions. Top notch team at ASL. It felt like fishing basic training with fist class accommodations. I truly enjoyed my experience at Alaska Sportsman's Lodge.

Wow. What a place. Everything is well set up from the time you step on the plane in Anchorage to the time you get back. Charter flight arranged out to a village near the lodge, then a quick boat trip on the river. Fantastic lodge, and good cabins for accommodations. 2 chefs and a wonderful staff handle the meals. Each day you set up for what you want to do the next day, from fishing for Rainbow trout in the river fronting the lodge, to flying out to their camp on a different river for Salmon. All of the pilots/guides are great, and we had a blast.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at ASL. This was an all around great stay, from the fishing, service, food, locale, etc. Also, plenty of bears to see along the way at most of the fishing locations. They have a wide variety of places to fish which provide lots of different types of fishing and scenery, all of which were excellent. Shout out to ALL the personnel, including the guides, pilots, chefs, and all the other supporting staff that wear so many hats depending on the time of day. Thanks Glady to you and your team in the Lodge for great service at meals and making guests feel at home away from home. Hope to return some day to do it again.

I recently had the pleasure of a first-class fishing trip provided by the Alaska Sportsman’s Lodge (“ASL”). From beginning to the end of the trip, in all aspects, ASL sets the gold standard for the premier Alaska fishing experience.
I booked on short notice, planning a long dreamed of trip with my Pop. ASL is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum, and, more than I would otherwise plan to spend; but, with my Pop, I consciously sought this option. As it turned out, he was unable to go; but, ASL accommodated short notice reservation changes for my daughter in my Pop’s place.
Right from the start you know you are in good hands with ASL. Brian (co-owner) and Glady were great resources in getting questions answered and my reservations locked down. The information packages and e-mails helped us feel well-informed and prepared for our trip. And, having waders, rods and all the other tackle you need available onsite, made preparing and packing easy and stress free.
The fishing experience is just outstanding. The lodge puts arguably the world’s finest angling at your doorstep; but, it is really the exceptional team of pilots and guides who make realizing that asset to the fullest possible. This team is truly the elite in their trades. We had some challenging weather conditions, which are not uncommon in this part of the world, and this is where spending more for the best really pays off. I sincerely felt the team, under those conditions, wanted us to get into the best fishing possible even more than we did; and, I felt incredibly at ease knowing they were making decisions on if/how/where/when we fished with an unparalleled array of cumulative years of piloting and guiding experience. I was astounded with the way they took our fishing desires into consideration, as well as all the other lodge guests, the weather with a safety-first mindset, and still managed to put together an exceptional trip for all their guests. Shout out to Jeff (head guide), Nick (co-owner and pilot extraordinaire); and Hayden and Mike, our guides for the trip. These guys were all amazing, created outstanding fishing experiences; and, in particular, were very patient with my daughter who was a novice angler.
At this price range, expectations are justifiably high as well around accommodations beyond the fishing; and the ASL did not disappoint. With a much-deserved shout out to Chef Reese and his team, the food during was outstanding. Appetizers included a full Shushi spread one night to alligator bites, carpaccio, crab cakes, etc. And, dinner and lunch were terrific as well as the breakfast to order and desserts; including delicious treats randomly left out in the lodge. My favorite of all though, was the cocktail hour down by the river as guests were coming off of the planes and boats after a long day of fishing. There was a craft cocktail menu, a fire, a beautiful outdoor venue, and the team warmly welcomed everyone as the guests and guides mingled and debriefed the days experiences.
The lodge and cabins were gorgeous and meticulously built and maintained. The logistics and craftmanship it took to build this facility in its location are mind bending; as well as the coordination it takes to get food, supplies, etc. to the facility. With how wonderfully the days’ accommodations are managed and the quality of the experience, it is easy to forget how much hard work is required for all of this to come together in this remote location as seamlessly as it does.
This is clearly the elite level remote Alaska fly in Lodges, and if you are in a position to afford this tier, I trust you will not be disappointed. Brian, Nick, Glady and the whole team at ASL have put together the “best of the best” in every sense for an unsurpassable fishing experience you will never forget.
