My sister and I spent a weekend at The Sleeping Lady with our two small dogs. It’s very dog friendly. Just have to remember not to leave dogs unattended in rooms like all other lodging. We love this place. The grounds are set in the woods. Staff was really friendly. This time we ate at the onsite restaurant. We had a delicious dinner. My sister had a nice sized piece of salmon and my prime rib was huge. Loved the French onion soup, especially on a cold wet night. There’s a hot tub onsite.

When booking, the website states the resort is "Proudly dog-friendly". What they do not share, until you arrive, is that your dog may not be left unattended in the room. If the dog is left unattended, you will be fined $300. I would appreciate knowing this fact prior to arrival because it greatly limited what we could do on our trip. My wife and I could not go to breakfast with each other, use the hot tub, or visit the town without out dog. For our Valentine's day dinner, we had to eat in 35 minutes because our Yorkie had to be taken with us into town, then left in our car in 25 degree weather (we wrapped her in her coat and blankets). I spoke with other guests and they were similarly unaware and frustrated. Some resorted to leaving their dogs in their parked cars, which I was told was not permitted and would result in the fine. Besides, I am not comfortable leaving my dog in a car alone, so that I could enjoy resort amenities with my wife.|Additionally, the lighting on the pathways is very poor. I'd estimate about two thirds of the lights were not operational. The resort is spacious, remote and beautiful. But at night, it is quite dark. Good luck finding your cabin. At minimum, flashlights should be provided for guests (everyone is walking around with their phone flashlights).|The location is perfect and the rooms are nice. They need some refreshing (our front door was very difficult to lock). But since new management has taken over the facility, you can see the resort is a shadow of what it once was.|When returning to Leavenworth, we will now pursue different options for our stays.

We booked the Sleeping Lady for a few nights to visit Leavenworth with all the Christmas lights and festivities. The resort grounds are spectacular. We had trouble finding our cabin because the light was out above the "Nuthatch" sign, which was our group of cabins, it was dark and snowing. Our cabin was #101, and we didn't love it. It was spotlessly clean and warm, the beds were very comfortable. The seat of the chair in the room is broken and very uncomfortable, the sink area is super tiny - really a wet bar sink outside of the bathroom. We ate twice at the Kingfisher restaurant. My dish was good (goat cheese pasta), and my husband’s steak was underwhelming, the burger the next night was on the cool side, but was tasty. The drinks were great, and the all the restaurant service super. The check in isn't what I would call a warm welcome. The check out process by comparison, was super nice and friendly. We would probably come back to the Sleeping Lady but get a difference cabin.

Honest review ahead - my wife & I stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of December 2024 and I must say, 3 nights was too many. When we arrived, it was dark and we read a review that said there was trouble locating their room in the dark so we prepared for that (totally accurate by the way.) In the dark, finding our room was a challenge & with freezing temperatures, a little frustrating but we figured it out. The location is not right downtown, it’s a little ways out so if that’s what you’re hoping for, this isn’t the place. The rooms are clean & comfortable, but the water didn’t stay warm for very long at all so quick showers together was the only option. The distance from where you park to where the rooms are is a fair distance so if coming in the winter, be sure to dress appropriately as it’s icy and cold. This wasn’t a major issue for us, but we weren’t aware of the parking situation until we arrived so I thought I’d share for the next person. They do have luggage carts which were very helpful! The resort did offer Christmas movies, cookie decorating & a hot chocolate bar on one of the nights and that was fun! The staff is very friendly, but could use some improvement on attentiveness in our opinion. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the summer when it’s more comfortable to be outside and enjoy the resort grounds.

My wife and I rented a simple room - I don't recall the compound name - and it was very comfortable and warm (snowfall came that night in the surrounding mountains). The staff was very nice - except for the individual who checked us, but everyone else was very pleasant. It was the offseason so not many guests which for us was nice. Did not eat at the restaurant since we had a late lunch in town prior, but it seemed well staffed. If we are ever in Leavenworth again, without a doubt we would look to book a room there again.

No breakfast besides a pastry and coffee available Monday through Thursday because they "didn't want two onsite restaurants open at the same time", but the one providing breakfast is closed those days... The charges for our rooms were executed early because "the payment system was being switched over", which was inconvenient and contrary to what we were told during check in. The pet fee is steep ($50/night) for an old dog bed and metal bowl. The hot tub was nice.

We love the location of sleeping lady mountain resort. The resort is beautiful, but the rooms need to be cleaned better. The bed wasn't level..felt like our heads were downhill. There aren't many food choices at the resort. The staff is friendly and if you need anything they get it to you promptly.

If you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful escape…this is not it. We spent a few days here and we have had dogs barking the entire time. At one point, after 3 hours straight from the dog next door, we asked if the front office if they could contact the owners. They declined. We came here hoping for a quiet weekend of reading and relaxing…We had to leave the resort to get that. The property is pretty and a good location though.
