Our large family has been gathering here for a week every July for 10 years. We love it so much!! Enough room in the kitchen for several family's to be making their own meals at the same time. 3 grills to share outside. That view of the lake and big sky from the yard all day and all night is beautiful!! Amazing sunsets!! We do bring extra coolers to help with space for food for so many of us!

My home away from home!
My family has been coming here for our week long annual family reunion every year of my life! 30 years! This place is so special to our family in a way that no other place could compare. It is so unique, offering enough space for our whole giant, extended family to stay under one roof. We get to share meals together in the large dining room, play games in the bar area, and enjoy being right on the lake. We love the swimming, boating, fishing. I've enjoyed many bonfires as well as yard games and volleyball on the large property. If you want to spend time with a group of loved ones on the beautiful, peaceful lake- this is the place to do it! Thank you!

Our family of more than 50 now has been spending a week together each summer at Pelican Lake Hotel for over 10 years! We have no plans to stop anytime soon. It is a week of beautiful memories sharing the hotel together. And each year we have a fish fry for the whole group using the week’s catch. Fishing is great! The sunsets are our favorite. We all sit together to enjoy them each night. Water sports, board games, bonfires, sharing meals, and so much more. Julie is great to work with. It feels like home each visit!

Our family (over 60 of us now!) have been spending a week in July at the Pelican Lake Hotel for over 10 years. It is perfect! Large industrial kitchen, plenty of room in the dining room for eating and playing games, and a large family room for watching movies and playing. The lake is so beautiful and has the most amazing sunsets. It is the best week of the year! Great fishing! So much fun for all of us from babies to folks in there 70's.

This will be our family’s 30th year at The Pelican Lake Hotel! The memories we have made there are precious to me & my family. We have a large family and the hotel has accommodated us through the years as we have grown. It is a wonderful, unique place that offers enough to keep us happy the entire week without having to get in a car. Storage to keep our food & a huge kitchen with all the tools to prep meals. Room enough to spread out. Choose the bar if in party mode, TV room to relax, play games in dining area, kids in library/playroom… plus your bedroom if need seclusion. Outside room for yard games, the lake to swim & boat, go for hikes or bikes. A ball field, ice cream shop or quick mart all a very short walk!! The owners are very friendly and interested in making our stay a success! They employ a person to contact who is nearby if any issues arrive. We look forward to our week at Pelican Lake every year! I now have five grandkids ages 2 - 5 who just love the time with cousins just like my four kids who were the same ages when we had our first reunion in 1994!

Our family has been spending our summer vacation (for the last 13 years) at Pelican Lake, 3 generations now (4 generations when my dad was still with us). Now my kids and grandkiddos too enjoy the lake, boating swimming, etc. Last year we had 52 people there. Everyone of us look so forward to this week! Thank you Julie Artus, the cleaning crew and the maintenance staff (when needed). We are so thankful for the kitchen, dining area, bedrooms, place for kiddos to play inside & lawn area.

Some of my most cherished memories have been made at this place. If you enjoy spending quality time with extended family, the Artus Pelican Lake Hotel is for you. Our very large Otzelberger family has been blessed to hold our annual family reunion here for the past 30 years! We have celebrated countless birthdays, bridal and baby showers, graduations, anniversaries and even two beautiful weddings in this historic building. We've had many hilarious talent shows, fun dance parties, and exciting kid carnivals.

The front yard is huge and offers the perfect space for all of our outdoor activities including bags and Jarts tournaments, endless volleyball games, etc. It's a short walk to the ball field where we've had many exciting games of baseball and kickball.

The lakeside view is spectacular, especially with the beautiful evening sunsets. Days on the water are spent boating, tubing, skiing, fishing and swimming. Most nights are devoted to settling in around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories. We also have a handful of musicians in the family who entertain us with their impromptu jam sessions under the stars.

We haul a lot of groceries with us. Thankfully, there is plenty of refrigerator/freezer space and a large pantry to accommodate all that we bring. All of our meals are prepped and eaten at the hotel. Although we do bring some equipment with us, the awesome kitchen has almost every appliance and gadgets needed to prep and serve our big crowd. Our dinner menus include Fri. fish fry, Sat. burgers/hot dogs, Sun. sub sandwiches, Mon. Italian, Tues. Mexican. Wednesday is leftovers! Every adult is assigned to one dinner crew. All kids ages 5 - 17 are assigned to the dreaded "dish schedule". This system has worked well for us for 30 years!

I could go on and on about the beauty of this place. This building is very old, which adds to its charm. The furnishings aren't brand new but everything is clean and comfortable. We've had a few minor plumbing issues and some blown fuses during our stays at the hotel. The friendly maintenance man is a phone call away and is quick to fix any problems that arise. The owners, Steve and Julie, are always accommodating and treat us like family. The Otzelberger family is eagerly awaiting our stay at the Artus Pelican Lake Hotel in July. If you cherish time with family, this is the place you're looking for. The best kept secret in the Northwoods!!
