So I stayed here because of cheaper price, but when I checked in suddenly the price changed and there so many hidden charges. The owner will send you bunch of invoice to confused you. So after a month of staying here I moved out. Before I leave I have them to inspect the room making sure nothing is damaged. to my surprise the owner email me that I have $0.00 refund on my deposits because apparently I have a lot of penalties. I would definitely avoid this place.

I wanted to love this place - it is in a great location and the old converted house looks really pretty. It has an amazing huge front porch with comfy seating. And it has off-street parking in a back alley.

But we had problems... first off, even though I booked online directly through their website, they had no record of my reservation. I called them multiple times to try to get in touch with them (they have a phone that isn't even set up for voice mail so had to keep trying). When I finally got through, the owner acted as though their systems problem was my issue. Even after I shared the confirmation email with her, she acted put out to set us up in their system.

The owner required us to send photos of IDs of all adults who were staying in the room. I guess this is fine, but advance notice of this requirement would have been preferred. I would have liked time to send in an encrypted manner rather than while standing on the sidewalk.

Once we got in, the room was cute - we were in the Aquatic Suite on the first floor. It has two separate sleeping rooms, 3 beds total, decent kitchenette with fridge, micro and coffee maker. When we requested breakfast in the morning they left the requested muffins at our door. (COVID protocols prevent use of the dining room off the foyer, which looks lovely through the glass doors).

The shower was not good, it sprayed water from the spigot and the curtain was only half on the rod. The twin beds were not comfortable. The smoke detector on the ceiling in the bedroom was broken.

Hopefully these are issues they can get in control - the house is really quite lovely and with that close proximity to downtown, this would be a great place to stay.

Do not give ur credit card information unless you’re looking to get scammed.
The beds are icky, uncomfortable, and queen size mattress on a twin box spring on a twin frame.
The “british lady” is a lady with a voice box she is from Florida…
This place is so dusty I spent a lot of my time cleaning so my room would be sanitary enough for my allergies.

The owner did a really bad job of communicating. We actually had to track down the previous owner (it was called Rosenberry Inn) after many of our emails and phone calls for over a month went unanswered. After contacting the previous owner we were able to make contact with the current owner. The owner rented out the entire house to us and the invoice clearly states entire house, 8 suites. They refused to let us use the 8th suite and then refused to refund our money for that portion, as well as the cleaning fee associated with the 8th suite. There was no breakfast and we were not able to use the kitchen/dining area without a $50 per day fee. I did complain about that prior to our arrival as that seems very unusual and she finally relented to unlock those spaces for us to use. The place was not very clean and there were pieces of wall and wall paper falling down in places. There was garbage throughout the yard and the place just had a neglected feel to it. Our sheets smelled musty and dirty but the air in most of the rooms was so strongly scented it was hard to breathe (think chemical/air spray). Suite #6 was also a bit of a debate. Shortly before our arrival the owner told us we couldn't use that room as well. I argued that we needed it and rented it so we wanted to use it. She relented on that as well but said the bathroom wasn't working. Many sinks in the kitchenettes were not functional and the entire building needed work. The last and really upsetting piece of this nightmare of a rental was this: When we made the reservation months ago we explained that we had dogs and we were told that they are more than welcome-we would have chosen to stay somewhere else if they weren't allowed. We have rented so many vacation houses through vrbo, privately, and through airbnb and stayed in many bed and breakfasts all over the country and when we've been told dogs are welcome, then that means dogs are welcome. At this point their rental was not up on airbnb and the owner told us we had to rent directly through them. There were NO rules about the dogs. We were paying a fee for all 4 of them between all of the members of our family. When we made contact with the owner- finally -just days before arrival we were told that the dogs had to stay in Suite 1. All 4 in the smallest suite? The dogs belonged to different people and we couldn't have them stay all in that room. I explained that the dogs couldn't stay in that room because 2 of them would stay with us and 2 of them with my brother and his wife in their room. The owner agreed that she did change the policies after we made the reservation and then agreed to let the dogs stay in other rooms without charging more. 2 dogs ended up not coming as my brother was hospitalized so he didn't come as well. I requested a refund of the 8th suite, the cleaning fee for that room and the fee for the 2 dogs that didn't come. It ended up only being a little more than $250, not a lot at all considering we paid almost $1,800. The owner refused. ||I am more than happy to share the contract with anyone thinking about staying here, it is the strangest contract we've ever seen at either a b&b or a vacation house rental. Please don't take what they advertise on airbnb as truth-unless they change it considerably after I post this review. They will not rent out the entire house (at least at this time) even though their website says so, they do not serve breakfast or allow use of the kitchen without a fee, and their lack of communication or property manager is bizarre. They've yet to change the sign on the house and their updates so far have been stickers on the walls. The pictures they have listed are quite deceiving. I will also happily share pictures or videos of the place. My hope is that they turn this business around soon because our stay was pretty awful.

This place is some kind of scam. The exact same bed and breakfast is in South Africa.
They did not have my reservation which I made ten days prior to my visit. The house was run down and no one was there. A phone number on a small white board said to call. The woman I spoke to said she had no reservation for me but could make a new one. I told her which room I had and she said it was still available and offered it to me. Given the run down state of the house, broken steps, worn out furniture shoved to the side of the porch I asked to see the room first. Then she explained that no one was there to show me a room. At this point I told her I would stay else where and wanted to confirm that my credit card had not been charged. She promised it had not.
I just got off of the phone with my credit card company where I am disputing the charge which was made they day I booked the place.
This is a scam.

I'm browsing the area for rooms and must say reading these reviews makes me think something very strange is going on here. Photo ID requirements are interesting. This isn't a firearms purchase. You send Hilton enough George Washington photographs and your good to go. If you're not answering your phone as a small business owner you're 100% wrong that's indefensible. These reviews are off the chain.

7/22/2022- DO NOT BOOK THIS! We NEVER even got to stay here. This is a SCAM! We were standing on Franklin Street with our bags in our hands and no place to stay for the weekend. Extremely poor communication from Krystal (owner). Pending charge on my credit card for a stay that never occurred.

We booked at Bougainvillea B&B weeks ahead of a scheduled meeting in town. This was all setup via telephone and confirmed via email invoice. When we attempted to confirm our reservation the week of, it took 3 days for the owner (Krystal) to get back to us. At that time, she informed us that she’d rented it on AirBnB for substantially more money and that we would have to stay across the street and that one of our party would be sleeping on a couch. When queried why the AirBnB reservation couldn’t move across the street, her reply was that she would just cancel our reservation if we didn’t like it. Since we were working with only two days’ time before leaving on our trip, we accepted the accommodation across the street and provided the required information. After no reply, we received driving directions and access codes the day before our booking. No address was provided. This is important.

Day of reservation and we make our way to Franklin Street with the assumption that the BnB would have a sign. No such luck. Krystal’s phone went straight to voicemail with a mailbox that does not accept messages. Texts went unanswered. We were standing on Franklin Street with nothing. By chance, we encountered the family who had booked via AirBnB and they were on their way to a hotel after taking a look at the accommodations. They attempted to help us contact Krystal but without any success. We were able to find accommodations for our party on extremely short notice and we let Krystal know via text that we’d found different accommodations- no reply.
As I write this review today (7/31/2022), I see that I have a charge pending on my credit card from Bougainvillea BnB. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!

I thought this would be a good short term stay for a few months, but as the days went on it was horrible management and trying to get things answered. Internet was changed halfway through the month and they took 2 weeks to fix. Lots of hidden charges. Finally, I'm still waiting for my Security Deposit to be returned as it has been 3 months already.
