Looking at the reviews, we didn’t have high expectations, but we were very happy overall with our stay! We heard from other guests that the older cabins didn’t have great AC, but the loft style cabin we stayed in had an amazing AC unit that cooled down the whole cabin very quickly. The pool had a lot of bugs in it, but there was a net we used to clean out a bunch and my kids still loved it! The goats were adorable, and even came right up to our cabin. Wendy was kind enough to light the fire pit closest to us a couple of nights, even though we were the only ones on that side of the resort. As far as cleanliness, this is where I had the lowest expectations based on other reviews. Yes, the carpets could use a deep clean, and yes there were a few dead bugs (and a couple live ones). But we expected that! We brought cleaner, paper towels and bug spray. It’s a cabin in a wooded area, this wasn’t that unexpected. The counters and other important areas were clean! The fridge was spotless. Overall my main complaint (and not a huge deal) was the low water pressure and low shower head. We made it work though, and overall had a great trip! Was it perfect? No. Did we have fun? YES! Would we stay there again? Yes, we would, specifically in a loft duplex - my kids loved the upstairs area, and it looked so cool inside! And the Noah’s Ark water park passes were a great perk!

Some of the rooms are a little dated. But that just adds to the charm in my opinion. Also I think it's reflected in the price. Birchcliff is a nice quiet place to stay outside all of the hustle and bustle of the dells. You can take a beautiful walk down to a beach on the Wisconsin River. The pool is also nice and was really warm. Staff are super friendly.

My family has stayed here numerous times. I wouldn't say it's a great place to stay but it's about time money is put back into renovations. They also need to hire a better cleaning company. The best thing about this place is Wendy! Her customer service is great and we'd give her 5 star and she's the only reason we went back. My kids enjoy the dells so it was always easier to keep going back. I called weeks ago to book and got a call back that night just for the owner to instantly put me on hold and then hang up. I called again and no call back. Which is fine because this place is over priced.

We recently stayed here with another 4 families and felt like this was the worst cabin that we ever booked.
First of all the cabin was not hygienic at all.
One of the showers was broken and we experienced shower water leak like rain in the main level from the roof.
The towels had mold on it. The carpet was dirty. The kitchen didn’t have dishwasher, not even a scrub to wash pots and pans. We had to run and buy one. The pots and pans were very dirty, we had to clean them first and start cooking. When started the oven, it smelled horrible, we couldn’t use it. They lied about bathrooms, all the families should get one full bath but we had to share one shower that was unbelievable. The lower level was so freezing cold, there was not enough heating. The TV didn’t have any channels to watch. Our stay was very uncomfortable. We asked to fix the shower no body showed up. It was not worth the money that we paid. I would give zero ratings for this cabin.
Please stay away from this resort.

Booked today for a fun spur of the moment trip with our daughter. We drove 4 hours, arriving at 11:30pm after we got off work. We were told that our keys & a map to our cabin would be left in the office drop box. We arrived and there were no keys or map. Owner/manager read our messages when attempting a dozen times to call & message, but never responded. We were forced to call AirBnb for assistance. That itself was a struggle as it took over an hour for them to "decide" whether or not we deserved a full $900 refund, meanwhile we had to call 20 places to find a room at a hotel and finally check in somewhere at 1am with a 7 year old. Absolutely outrageous.

I’ve been coming to Birchcliff since I was a child, and it’s such a wonderful place to vacation. It’s a beautiful setting and so very relaxing. The cabins haven’t been renovated recently, but are always clean and comfortable. Wendy is amazing at running the resort, she is very friendly a helpful.

First, the good things- large eating spaces, fires made for you each night, goats to pet, activities to do, good for hiking and mountain biking, free Waterpark passes|Not so good but not a deal breaker- odd format of cabins(plumbing in weird places), available parking, run down from pictures on the website|Things that would keep me from coming back- the reservation system is outdated and difficult to work with, no laundry facilities as promised on the website||In general , our group can have fun anywhere and we enjoyed being together. The large gathering places gave us an opportunity to eat and play games together. It is certainly not a luxury resort. It is more like a campground with cabins.

we stayed in this resorts for 2 nights, just last weekend and we had the worst experience ever. altogether we were 5 families but no ideal for that many people. not enough beds, no heating in the big leaving room, bathroom was broken, so we had to use only one bathroom for shower. It was below 40 degree in the night and no heating, How come city allow then to run this business? Towels has mold in it, not sure if the whole house has mold. I believe city doesn't care. Kitchen was dirty, dishes were oily and fungus on it, I washed all the pots before I used them. We compliant about the ceiling leakage no one came to fix it. One of the girl was taking shower and we were sitting in the hall and all of a sudden it started leaking from the ceiling, so we had to stop using that bathroom. The owner is arrogant and doesn't care about all these. But I am very surprised that city or county is allowing them to run this AIR B&B with no heating and mold in the towels, JUST DON"T STAY IN THIS RESORT, OUR EXPERINCE WAS AWFULL.
