I had another great stay at the Courtyard! The staff here is always welcoming and friendly, making sure guests feel right at home. The rooms are consistently clean and well-maintained, and the outdoor area is a nice spot to relax. What really stands out, though, is the manager—she genuinely cares about her guests and goes above and beyond to ensure everyone has a great experience. It’s always nice to stay somewhere that makes customer service a priority. Definitely a solid choice!

I’ve been a loyal customer at this hotel every week for work. I love staying here because the rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is great, and it’s safe and convenient. However, they recently started charging customers to park here. I’m super disappointed in this choice.

I recently stayed here while traveling through WV on a road trip. It's a sparkling new property in downtown Charleston, which makes it something of a rarity. The hotel is conveniently located, with most amenities a short walk or drive away. I was also very impressed with the staff. During check-in, the front desk associate was friendly, engaging, and provided lots of helpful information. Later I realized there was a mix-up with a feather free room request and the manager addressed it immediately (and with sincere concern), making the situation right for everyone involved. Her professionalism was greatly appreciated! If you want to stay someplace where you know you'll be taken care of, you absolutely can't go wrong with the Downtown/Civic Center Courtyard.

This was our first stop on a road trip, and all the other hotels, which were just fine, didn't match the high standard set by this Courtyard. The room design was perfectly comfortable and practical, the front desk staff was helpful and courteous. The place was immaculate, and we appreciate the recylcling and the EV chargers. A very short drive to restaurants

This was our first stay in Charleston, and though we were only at the hotel one night, it was a great way to start our trip. The employee at the desk when we checked in was so helpful and kind, and even upgraded us to a river view room on the top floor. I wish I remembered her name, she was a fantastic first impression of the city for us.

There’s lots of places to visit within walking distance, with a Starbucks right across from the entrance. It was a good starting point for us to explore downtown by foot.

I’m used to sleeping within earshot of a highway, so I was sensitive to the relative silence of this hotel. Bring ear plugs or a noise machine if this sounds like you, because the walls are pretty thin and you’ll definitely know when your neighbors get to their room.

Stayed at Charleston courtyard on 12/21.
Laurie checked us was very friendly, pleasant, and efficient. Was able to change our room to ground floor, assisted with local dining options, and was generally very customer service oriented. Cindy who manages the property always has time to talk and is very focused on guests comments and insight. We have stayed at this location many times over the past several years, as a stopover during travel. However the location on the river and close proximity to downtown makes it a great weekend getaway property.

This was an average stay at an average hotel. Not what I expect from a Courtyard but my needs were minimal this trip. Staff seemed nice. I don't require shining faces at the desk so when it doesn't happen I don't really notice. Room was clean, room temp control good. The area around the hotel is uncomfortable. There's a Starbucks and a Shoney's and that's it. Lots of parking lot and concrete. But this pretty much goes for this whole area, not just this hotel. Even the other Marriott nearby is squeezed under an aging shopping center. I drove to a nice restaurant about 10 blocks away for dinner. I did not try the breakfast the next morning at the Courtyard. The bike/walk path along the river goes right by the hotel. If you're there in daylight hours it's a nice stroll down to the Capitol.

There was no experience! We called and booked two rooms for the night of Dec 30th.for a Christmas present for my niece and her children who live in Morgantown Twenty minutes later we received a call from the front desk telling us they had to cancel our booking because we were local! I explained I was getting the room for out of town family and she suggested I was just trying to get the points for their stay. After explaining our long term affiliation with Marriott properties ( gold membership ) she simply said it was their policy ! So we went to embassy suites and had a wonderful time. We had dinner at their in house restaurant I didn’t even know existed ( which was amazing ). So I would definitely give embassy suites 5/5.
