Shawn and Ginny were wonderful hosts! This quaint Inn right on the Spit had spectacular views, comfy bed, just the right amount of amenities, and fabulously tasteful decor. Walking distance to the shops in the Marina (although this time of year, most shops were closed) or into town. My husband and I stayed two nights while on our wedding anniversary vacation and this spot was our highlight. Homer is a fantastic town and The Shack Inn could not have been more welcoming. Did I mention the amazing views?!? From sea to mountain tops. We would definitely come back and hopefully hit up Shawn for an ocean fishing day as well.

Our family had such a wonderful Thanksgiving week staying at the shack inn! We absolutely loved the views and being able to watch the light change on the mountains in the mornings right from the room was such a treat! We loved watching the eagles, otters and sea lions right out the window too! And being able to walk out the door and walk on the beach each morning was so wonderful! We also loved exploring the Homer area. We hiked Diamond creek on the icy trail to the beach there and that was spectacular, and we cross country skied at Eveline, also spectacular! Homer is a great spot and we look forward to returning one day!! Oh, and we were stoked to be able to cook Thanksgiving dinner right in the room! It was a cozy family holiday for us!! Annnd we saw a hint of the northern lights one night as well!! Thank you for such a lovely stay!🥰

Sean and Ginny, the owners of the Tackle Shack, are the sweetest people! My husband and I absolutely loved the accommodations. Our King-sized bed was so comfortable, the room is beautifully appointed, the sound of the waves under our windows was so soothing, and if you happen to break your ankle, as I did while I was out fishing on a charter, there could be no better place on the Spit to lick your wounds. Sean helped my husband get me upstairs upon arriving from the ER and Ginny insisted upon giving me pillows for the trip back to Anchorage so I would be comfortable! The service was 5-star, with bonus points for proximity to our favorite dining spots. Book with them! You will not be disappointed. (This is the first time I can say that a room looked exactly like the pictures posted on the internet - maybe even better!).

We LOVED our stay at the Shack Inn in Homer. The location was perfectly situated on the Spit within easy walking distance of everything, yet set far enough apart so that we felt we had the beach and the view all to ourselves. Our first impression walking into Unit #3 was that it smelled so fresh and had gorgeous views out of every window. Our unit was nicely updated and meticulously clean. It easily accommodated our family — two queen beds in the spacious main area for our two adult sons and a separate bedroom for my husband & I. We were all fascinated watching the tides come in & go out just outside our window and we loved walking the shore during low tide. Many thanks to our hosts Virginia & Shawn for a wonderful stay!

Really enjoyed our stay in room 2 here! The room itself is clean and aesthetic. Everything you could need is there— many cooking supplies, mini fridge, microwave, keurig, and an induction stove. You can cook to your hearts content! Large smart tv on a swivel. And then the views!!! Can’t be beat. The view out the main window is just stunning. When people are walking around outside it gets a bit noisy but that has to do with the other guests, not the inn itself— if you’re a light sleeper bring earplugs for the morning.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this inn. The owner was very accomodating and stayed open late to help us check-in. The room was furnished beautifully and with great taste. Would love to stay here again!
