Came here with my son to scout out the university.

Pros: location and front desk staff upon check-in. Cons: this hotel is MAJORLY run down. “A dump” was the term my son used. The rooms are basic - the beds were fine - we couldn’t get more than tepid water in the really run-down shower.

Note the signage out front says Best Western because I guess that’s what it used to be. I wound up calling to ask where they were because I couldn’t figure it out.

If my son decides to go to this university, we will not be staying at this place again when we come to visit. Hampton or Holiday Inn, here I come.

We stayed here for a basketball game. Hotel is clean and well maintained. People were friendly and the room was clean. The carpet was even clean. Overall as expected. Good value and good location.

Although this is an acceptable choice for an overnight stay, clean, with friendly reception clerks, this hotel needs to step up its game to live up to its potential. We were housed in a room at the very far end of the building from the reception area. The furniture of our room was all we needed, but on a cold winter night, the bed covering was light and no extra blanket was available. The occupants of the adjoining room were a raucous crowd, laughing, shouting, bumping around their room until very late at night. As the hotel appeared to have only one staff member on duty, there seemed little point in complaining. When I attempted to shower, I could not get any water at all from the fixture. In the morning, we sampled the provided breakfast. We know this service is often more of a hint of breakfast rather than a meal, but in our travels we are occasionally pleasantly surprised. In this case, there was no surprise. Again, the lone front desk clerk also was tasked with managing the breakfast bar, which meant food stations emptied and weren't refilled. Complaining of the shower problem, I was advised, "You have to yank it really hard!" This did work, but at this point, we were close to check-out time. If a bed for the night is all you need, this will work, but Morgantown has a lot of options you may wish to consider. 2 stars.

Positive: Service was great and it had a pool The rooms where very clean and had a nice big tv and refrigerator Negative: Bedding and bed was terribleBed was very hard and the bedding g was like sleeping with 2 sheets only, the blankets where very thin almost to nothing. The bathroom was so small you could barely get in there and shut the door

Great hotel one block from rail trail, river, and playground. Perfect for stretching legs or cyclists. About a mile to Core Aboretum and WVU campus. Lots of parking and indoor salt water pool - kids loved it. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was ample with good staff service. Scheetz gas station across street and easy access to 79. Thumbs up.

This motel has definitely seen better days and is in desperate need of a renovation. It used to be a much better quality motel but that was many years ago. In a pinch, it’s better than sleeping in your car I suppose, but the other patrons here left me worried to travel through the hallways alone. Hopefully they step up on everything here, it’s a shame it fell into such disrepair as the location really can’t be beat with the proximity to key attractions in Morgantown and the interstate

My husband, daughter, and Myself, stayed here on January 27th 2025. We checked in around 9 pm. Upon entering the room we could smell a faint mildew smell, room looked ok, dog hair was everywhere. Around 3 am I wake up and get out of bed, upon returning to the bed I happened to spot a BED BUG crawling near my daughter! I proceeded to take a picture and quickly put it in a cup for evidence. My husband called the front desk and told them that we had found said bug and we would like to switch rooms. The worker then proceeded to tell my husband that it was unusual that we found it on the sheet because they usually are under them?!? Which infuriated me but he was very helpful in getting a new room. Upon checking out the next morning January 28th 2025. My husband went to
The front desk to ask for trash bags to put our luggage in so we didn’t bring any BED BUGS home, while there she spoke to my husband in a condescending way, he was very polite and even said stuff like this can happen, but we would like a partial refund ( they only gave us $22 off ). She proceeded to BLAME us for the BED BUGS and said we probably carried them in on us. Or caught them from the hospital that we hadn’t been into yet…. So if you’re thinking about staying here, be cautious. Better yet don’t stay here…
