My husband and I had a wonderful one-night stay at this B & B in March 2025. We were in the area to take tours of Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. We stayed in the Patriot Suite, which is one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Melissa and Robert are consummate hosts - they've thought of everything in terms of making their guests feel welcome and comfortable. The 2-course breakfast was absolutely delicious. Upon arrival, Robert took us on a tour of the facility and showed us to our room. He also took our order for breakfast the following morning.

If you are planning a trip to the Laurel Highlands area, this is the place to stay! You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Hartzell House B & B in mid March. We were in the area to tour both Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. Melissa and Robert are consummate hosts. They were very clear in their communications, both by email, and also by phone, shortly before our arrival. They were extremely flexible about our arrival time, allowing us to check in early so we could relax a bit prior to our afternoon tour of Kentuck Knob.||We stayed in the Patriot Suite, which is one of the nicest B & B suites we have ever experienced. There are many other spaces within the B & B, which allowed us to feel as if we were truly staying in an expansive home. ||The two-course breakfast was delicious - starting off with poached pears, and then there was a fluffy egg custard with artichoke hearts and also a breakfast salad. Cookies, coffee and tea were available all day. ||In sum, this was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed, in one of the most beautiful areas of Pennsylvania.

We absolutely loved our stay. Melissa was a gracious host. The property is beautiful and clean. There are so many beautiful touches in the rooms and common areas - gorgeous plants in every room too!||We went to visit Falling Water and realized that this B&B is central to many other places (eg Deep Creek and Garntsville area) ||The breakfast was SO good; multiple courses and quality ingredients- we were full well beyond lunch! LOL And they made excellent GF options for me. ||We will definitely be back and would recommend this space to anyone visiting the area.

Robert and Melissa are the perfect innkeepers. Unlike other B&B;s we've stayed, they give you a choice of breakfast as well as time to be served. Many other B&B's offer one breakfast at a specific time and you end up eating with a bunch of strangers. I liked having choices, and the breakfasts served were over the top. They far exceeded any expectations we had! We stayed in the Patriot room and it was perfect. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The Hartzell House has several different 'living rooms' as well as courtyards if you just want to chill. There are lots of things to do within a 30 minute drive, and Robert & Melissa will recommend things for you to do. When we were there my wife had a broken foot and was suing either a walker or a knee scooter. The Patriot room is handicap accessible as is the main level of the Hartzell house. Robert and Melissa were always asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be coming back.

We treated ourselves to two nights at Hartzell House amid our holiday travels, and we are so glad that we did! Our stay was exceptionally cozy, full of those little touches that make you feel very welcome. But no luxury or perk compared to the meals we ate -- each dish was exquisite and quite obviously a labor of love! We will be recommending this BnB far and wide.

The house is so cozy and welcoming. Melissa and Robert ensure that every single aspect is thought of to make your visit memorable. We have visited several times and always leave feeling refreshed. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Hartzell House is!

I can't say enough about this beautiful home and it's owners. The furnishings, the gardens, the cottages, the grounds, the fruit trees, even the chickens are just perfect. They have thought of everything as far as comforts go. Even sound machines and a magnifying mirror. Their homemade breakfasts are unusual and delicious. Be sure to pick up a bottle of their house made organic ginger syrup. Delicious! There are different rooms and decks where you can enjoy breakfast. I had to leave for one night for a medical emergency and came back the next day. I stayed behind for a day while my husband went to the wedding party's place. I was taken care of like family. I'll never forget them. They are wonderful people.

Beautiful Inn, the owners are excellent cooks! Robert and Melissa made us feel right at home and are such lovely people. The property is gorgeous and the chickens are adorable! Located pretty close to Falling Waters and Kentuck Knob, the Hartzell House is also very conveniently located. Highly recommend and if ever we are back in this area, we’ll definitely stay here again.
