We booked the Sternwheeler Festival Kick-Off Luncheon Cruise. We were new to Marietta and the maps weren't very clear how to find the parking area for the boat as it is under a bridge. Our desk clerk was a big help, and we found the parking area. We were warned the parking lot fills up fast but most of the cruise were passengers bused in, so the lot stayed empty.
Signage was very clear and while the walk from the parking lot was downhill and dirt/gravel, we made it to the landing. Embarkation was very smooth; the Gem was well organized. We had assigned tables and went straight into lunch. The boat cast off 15 minutes early.
It was a beautiful clear day. The river was calm.
Lunch was served buffet style and t was very good. Roast chicken or lasagna, with green beans, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes and a dinner roll. With a nice dessert. Drinks were brought to the table in pitchers.
Following the meal, you could go to the upper deck to sightsee. The restrooms were on the lower deck, and they were busy.
The deck house and bridge were open and the Captain answered questions and conversed with the passengers throughout.
The cruise took 2 hours and return to the quay was smooth. There was a long line of people waiting to board and the parking lot was overflowing. I can see parking being an issue if the lot was full and then the folks for the next cruise arrived and needed space. That parking overlap was my only criticism. We were very happy with the cruise. Given the quality of the food, can see making a fall trip to see the foliage and enjoy a soft evening afloat.

We took the lock tour. The most relaxing sternwheel boat experience. The crew was very nice and the food was excellent. This tour took 7 hours. We went up the Muskingum River and down the Ohio River.

A very pleasant paddle boat ride up to Ohio River and Muskegon River offered breakfast, lunch and dinner. Narrated about the river history up through three man operated locks. Very interesting

We enjoyed the Polar Express Cruise. This was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing things I've ever done (relaxing is not a word I often associated with Christmas 😆) Santa and Mrs. Clause read stories and visited with the kids, there were crafts, hot chocolate, and some amazing desserts.

So.much better than we expected. Fantastic value for what we paid. Some of the staff voices were so amazing that we plan to come back just to hear them sing again. Undoubtedly they will end up with careers on Broadway or on the silver screen.

Awesome price for such a cool guided tour. Downstairs has a bar/kitchen. Upstairs is mostly shaded, can get on and off and avoid steps if that's an issue.

My mom and I went to the Murder Mystery Dinner. The food was delicious. And the entertainment was lighthearted and fun. The river is beautiful. We enjoyed the evening.
