This is the third time we have stayed at this location, the staff was absolutely wonderful from check in to check out. The hotel was warm and inviting and very clean. The rooms were top notch from comfy pillows and bed to a relaxing rain head shower with plenty of hot water. I cant say enough about the complementary breakfast... you had several hot things to choose from, cereal, fredh fruit, yougart, granola, waffles and drinks galore!!!! Thank you Windgate for a wonderful stay!!! We will be back!!

This was the second time we stayed at the Wingate in Elkins. The rooms were decent and clean. They only clean every 3rd night. You do need to request clean towels and TP. Breakfast was okay. The real struggle is to BEWARE, they do double charge you for your room! They tell you this is “how their system works”. But they charge you twice for the room and then you have to wait several days for the double charge to be reversed. They tell you it is a “hold” but it is not! It is an actual charge. They charge you for the room, and then reverse the charge. And then charge you again. I was NOT impressed. I was told it was because I made my reservation online. I was told that they put the hold on the charge when you book, then charge when you arrive with the actual charge. The lady at the desk ran the card from the online reservation. And then revered it. And then charged the card again for the room. I could understand a security deposit or something like that. Or even an actual hold that is released the day you check out. But a double charge that you have to wait till it is reversed by your bank, NOT okay at all. We stayed 3 nights. So basically I got charged over $800 on my card for my stay. I definitely could have stay in an upgraded hotel for that kind of money. So PLEASE be aware before you book. Or use an online site, NOT Wingate direct!

Looks like the place had been recently renovated. We got a suite and the room had plenty of room, seating and amenities. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was amazing, biscuits and gravy with potatoes was so good. Location is in a quiet part of town, but close enough to dinning and drinks. Anytime we visit Elkins we will be staying here again.

We were in Elkins for the fall train ride and only stayed one night but it was great. The room was probably the cleanest hotel room we ever stayed in. I do agree with the other review that stated they need vents in the bathroom- if you shower and steam up the mirror it's useless for a woman trying to do her hair and makeup. My husband went to the breakfast in the morning and said it was the best hotel breakfast he ever had -lots of variety and tasted great. All in all it was a very good stay. We would definitely stay here again .

Front desk staff were so welcoming and accomodating. Room was spotless and bed was very comfortable with fluffy pillows. Water pressure in bathroom was great with plenty of hot water for showers. Breakfast was tasty with anything from bagels/muffins to eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, waffles, etc. Tea and coffee available 24/7. Hostess kept the breakfast area spotless throughout the 6a-10a timeframe. Bonus was the beautiful landscape of the mountains surrounding the hotel. Would 100% stay here again and have no reservations in recommending the Elkins Wyndham to anyone who stays overnight in Elkins, WV.

Bedding was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is close to restaurants and gas stations. Had a great stay. |I will definitely put this hotel on my list as one to stay at when I come to this area again. It was exactly what I needed.

What a great experience at this Wyndham. Hotel is kept very clean. The beds were so comfortable. They offer a good variety of pillows to suit your personal preference. Well-appointed rooms with plenty of storage.

Coffee machine they use is so good, it appears to brew each cup fresh! Hot and never stale at any time, day or night. Went down to lobby at 230am and got a perfect fresh hot cup. For me, that's important 🙂

Staff is very nice. I wouldn't hesitate in coming back here.

This is a wonderful hotel, conveniently located, friendly staff, clean, quiet, safe and the breakfast was excellent ! Our room was on the second floor with two queen beds, perfect for us. I would highly recommend staying here when visiting the area.
