We stayed at the Renovated Barn at Seneca Rocks for 2 nights at the beginning of January. We vacation several times a year in WV & for this trip we were looking for a cozy cabin getaway in the mountains. Our stay was an amazing winter escape - it was everything we expected from Shelly’s website, the reviews, photos & so much more. The space is so cute, cozy, romantic & unique. Sharing a barn with a barnyard of cute animals added to the experience. Shelly has detailed instruction on the animals, what they can & like to eat. We were able to save our vegetable scraps & feed them each day. They are adorable. We felt very much isolated at the barn even with Shelly’s home on the same property. The cozy one-room space has everything we wanted/needed for a short getaway & is a perfect spot for a couple. Shelly has so many cute touches in the space & comfortable amenities like soft blankets, extra towels & a gas fireplace. We definitely recommend bringing slippers or warm socks if you stay in the winter. It snowed and was extremely cold outside when we were there and the slippers were perfect. Also, we cooked two hearty dinners & brought from home things we weren’t sure would be provided in the kitchen like large stock pot, spices, specific servers but otherwise the kitchen is pretty well stocked. It was also so nice not to have to bring soap, bathroom supplies & sheets. We would definitely stay here again!!

My wife, our dogs, and I spent our honeymoon here and simply said, we don't want to leave. If you need some peace and quiet or just a change of scenery, this is the place. 15 minutes from Senica Rocks. We will be back !!

My fiance and I loved this little cabin! The bed is more comfortable than any hotel I've been to, the shower is nice and hot, and the farm animals are a nice perk if you have kids or simply just love animals. It's literally about 5 minutes from Seneca rocks. For the price, I do recommend it!

What a fabulous place! From the minute we booked until the time we checked out, everything was perfect. |Check-in information and directions were excellent. |The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The barn has everything you need for a wonderful relaxing stay, and is located in the perfect place to explore the wonderful countryside. |The animals are amazing. The peaceful evenings outside enjoying the BBQ were wonderful. |We cannot recommend highly enough. Shelly is a fantastic host. There if you need her, yet it feels so private. |If we are lucky enough to be in the area again, we would definitely stay here again. We just wished we had stayed longer!

Fantastic place to stay! Not “modern” but very nice out of the way place to stay. I like nice, not modern! No cell signal even close to it but they have wifi so once you are there, no problems. Very quiet country setting, it is country!
Would stay again in a heartbeat! Price is very good too😁

Our stay in the barn turned out to be one of the highlights of our road trip around West Virginia because we felt like we got a realistic experience and less like tourists. The accommodations were well thought out and had everything we needed. Shelly went over and above by providing some eggs and mailing me my power supply which I left behind. We had a meet & greet with the animals... Kiwi the pig is really adorable. We really appreciated the opportunity to get a little taste of country living; much more memorable than the other hotels and airbnbs we stayed in. This is a great location for visiting Seneca Rocks; I think the caverns were shut down while we were there but we had already seen the Lost World caverns. We would definitely stay here again.

The Renovated Barn was the best peaceful place to stay! It had everything we needed, comfortable bed, and so cozy and fun with the animals. The owner was very responsive and kind and even had a vase of fresh flowers which was so sweet! We will definitely stay again when we return to the area for a whole week! We absolutely loved our stay!
