Gorgeous hotel located less than a minute from downtown middleburg. We had a wonderful trip the only issue we had was cherry blossoms covering the Lamborghinis in valet parking, but Matt and the staff were exceptional and found us a mobile detailing company to come clean them within the hour. The spa was incredible! Everyone is so friendly. Thank you Alex for showing us the wedding venue on such short notice! We are excited to come back this summer and make final decisions. 10/10

I haven’t taken the time to write a review in a while but The Salamander deserves one. Like other five-star resorts we’ve visited, Salamander’s public spaces and our room were beautiful, comfortable, large and spotless. I don’t think there’s a room without a lovely view. What sets Salamander apart is the attention to detail. I forgot to move a towel near the shower but when I got in, I found a nook in the shower where they stack bath towels. There are the usual containers of shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap affixed to the wall but there’s also a bar of soap (our preference).|We had a fantastic dinner at Harriman’s and again, the room was designed to optimize the views from every table. Anna, our server, was wonderful. When we were finishing, she asked if we wanted to take the delicious breads. We did. The next day we opened the package and we found the bread, along with a sculpted pat of butter, napkin and utensils. The breakfast options at Harriman’s were delicious and our waiter, Mohamed, was just a delight. Every staff member with whom we interacted was gracious and helpful. The resort offers lots of activities and the grounds are beautiful. Our stay was a perfect birthday getaway.

Truly a beautiful place to relax and enjoy being pampered! Every single member of staff was super friendly and went the extra mile in all aspects of our stay. The property is amazing with beautiful views and activities you can enjoy at your leisure. Our grandchildren loved the stable and thoroughly enjoyed riding the horses. The food was delicious. The rooms were beautiful and immaculate. I can’t say enough good things about the Salamander as it was superior in all respects.

Such a beautiful place with top amenities. The spa is well appointed and a truly relaxing facility. This is my fourth visit, and I have never had a bad experience. All of the techs are knowledgeable and skilled at their craft. I always leave feeling completely renewed.
The rooms are wonderfully decorated, clean, and comfortable. Turndown service is standard with water and treats left on the side table, lights dimmed, and slippers left at the foot of the bed.
Dinner at Harriman's is also a must. The food quality and presentation are not to be missed. I look forward to coming back many times in the future.

Gorgeous rooms, wonderful amenities. Loved the firepit and looking out my balcony at the deer and beautiful landscape. I also loved the abundant water stations. Wonderful bathroom toiletries including bath salts. Large fluffy towels and nice robes. Nice touch leaving a small sweet and turning down the bed.

My wife and I stayed at the Salamander Middleburg recently while on vacation in area. We were in DC for few days and then stayed outside of DC at Salamander at end of our trip. The resort is close to Dulles airport and easy to get to from DC. The resort is very well done with lot of spaces to mingle, eat, drink plus outside areas to relax. It is walking distance to Middleburg for restaurants and shopping. It is not cheap but service and atmosphere is excellent. There is free parking option which was nice to see. We really enjoyed our stay and well worth the cost.

Where do I start?! My past 4 days at the Salamander Middleburg has been pretty much perfect. I booked this stay last minute when my prior plans had changed due to a major snafu at another hotel; this ended up being a blessing in disguise. After my first night, I decided to extend my original three day stay. ||There are many five star/five Diamond hotel resorts. A few things that set this place apart from the rest for me:|1. They excel on all levels: beautiful impeccably clean room with plenty of space and all amenities thoughtfully provided; well prepared and presented food; incredible spa (worth its separate review!); lovely grounds.||2. Dog friendly while ensuring things remain clean and orderly. As a a first time dog owner, I appreciate making my minidoodle and me truly welcome while ensuring rules are followed to maintain the beautiful facilities.||3. Although this is a 5 Diamond resort (deservedly so), it is warm and unpretentious. I was told by the staff and a guest who has been coming here for years that the owner wanted this to be a “living room” for the guests and the community. She has succeeded in this goal.||4. Most importantly, I want to give huge kudos to the people who work here: the staff across the board are professional, skilled, but most importantly, kind & considerate. This speaks volumes about the management and owners of the Salamander Middleburg. ||I am grateful I was able to spend a much needed few days away. I will definitely be back. Thank you again to the wonderful team here for such a lovely stay!

First time though I’d always wanted to go. Couples getaway. Perfect service. Beautiful grounds. Just a wonderful experience. Spa facial was divine. Very expensive visit but worth it! Owner was on-site for dinner. This will be an annual visit. Perfect for wedding, anniversary, adult getaway. Friendly for kids but I would not take young kids. Definitely an adult type of estate. Horse-lovers dream with stables and horses available for use. Beautiful all around.
