I stayed at this hotel for five nights, and I found it to be pleasant and accommodating. The room was comfortable, the continental breakfast was plentiful, the warm pool and workout room were good amenities, and the attached tavern had tasty and ample food. The hotel internet was quite reliable and my room’s desk was a good place for working remotely. The staff were all friendly and the location was great for exploring Harper’s Ferry in the evenings. Perhaps it’s not the fanciest place, but it’s clean and a good value - I’d recommend it.

First, let me start off with the let down of booking a poolside room for a premium price only to find the pool closed by the Health Department. They did manage to get the pool open allthough still dirty" during our stay which would have been awesome if they didn't allow small children to run around screaming very loudly till way after midnight. They did eventually give us 25% off for this occurrence but it didn't lesson the inconvenience of putting up with it. I'd of been ok if they had done something with the first two complaints starting around 11pm and not waited to the third at 12:30am. The clerk even told us there were multiple complaints. The room we got was large and nicely laid out. It was clean except for the bathroom. There was however a very musty smell which we chocked up to it being a poolside room. They did have a dehumidifier in the room, don't know if it was helping as the smell was still there. One of the biggest inconveniences was the hot water and water pressure, Neither was satisfactory. Next was the breakfast, I don't expect much from a complementary breakfast but this one is definitely the bottom of expectations with the room itself feeling like an uncleaned school cafeteria. Lastly, we actually had to cut our stay short as there was a power outage and this hotel has zero power backup. Our room was downstairs and completely black out dark. Not one emergency light in this hotel was working. We had to use our cellphones flashlight to navigate our way out. Then they refused to credit my bill for the night we couldn't stay due to no power. Trying to deal with the Hotel over the bill discrepancy was impossible, they actually hung up on us and refused to answer the phone. Which is their normal m.o. anyways. I had to deal through Choice Privileges to book the room then to settle the bill discrepancy. Hotel management is inept. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for any reason. Yes it's close to Harpers Ferry but we found plenty of decent hotels 10 mins away in Charles Town.

This hotel sits conveniently off a major road and incredibly close to the quaint, historical town of Harper's Ferry. My room was super tidy with ample parking and a great overlook towards the historical battle fields.

However, what really stood out to me about my stay was the service! Everyone I interacted with from check-in, to the restaurant staff, to the general manager of the hotel, Elsy, was incredibly professional and accommodating. I sincerely appreciate how thoughtful and sincere all of my interactions were with Clarion's hotel staff. Thank you again and I will be returning!

We love this place!! My best friend and I have been coming here almost every month for our “Girls Week” since last May. We love all the staff. We feel like family here. We have so much fun in the Tavern and meet so many cool people. The bartenders and servers are awesome! Great time here for sure!!

Been attending 1d4Con at this location the past 3 years and by far this is the best year yet. The new owner, Pranav Patel, has been phenomenal as I have witnessed him help his staff repair loose carpet outside our registration space. I witnessed him help staff remove a warming station from the on sight restaurant and help load it into the truck. I have worked personally in the hospitality field for a number of years and have not witnessed this with owners let alone new owners. He constantly popped in and checked on us and talked with us about upgrades and changes he is going to be doing to the property to make it more updated.

Lisa, the sales manager has also been amazing. She has checked in on us, provided cookies to our staff and attendees, and has been a pleasure to talk to.

I hope the drive continues and this property continues improving. It is a great location to so many attractions, close to shopping, close to outdoor adventures and close to historical locations like Harpers Ferry and battlefields.

We reserved a pool-side room for 3 nights...
Day 1: When we arrived, we found the pool was closed by the Health Dept. Other amenities had "out of order" signs taped on them as well (appliances in the laundry room, video game and vending machine, etc). Our king suite had a strong, musty odor and a loud dehumidifier plugged into the wall right next to the bed. It had to be moved so that my husband could access that side of the room. Previous bathroom repairs were done without care.
Day 2: The complimentary breakfast was below sub-par. A gallon of milk and orange juice were provided for all guests to access (an employee said more was "thawing in hot water" if they ran out), several slices of bread were beyond stale (stiff as a board), the heat n serve sausages were luke warm and families had to share tables because half of the dining room was closed off and dark. After a day of sightseeing and shopping, we returned to find the pool open but too dirty for our liking. The entire area became overcrowded by screaming kids, so utilizing the poolside tables/chairs was impossible. This went on for hours, followed by hours of these kids running through the hall while screaming and banging doors. Multiple calls to the front desk, finally brought the noise to a stop, AFTER 12:30am!
Day 3: After another great day out, high winds took out the power in Harpers Ferry. We returned to a hotel without power. Literally, NO power. When we asked about backup generators, we were told, "Well, the building was built in the 70s, sooooo..." When we inquired about a refund for that night, if we left, the answer was "Well, this isn't our fault and we did give you a 25% discount because of the kid issue last night". SERIOUSLY?!?! We waited a few hours, (1st in our room illuminated by only our cell flashlights, and then in our truck while we charged our phones) before booking an AMAZING room at Holiday Inn Express. Because we were on the bottom floor, we had to pack up and carry our suitcases, and other personal belongings from our room (again using our cell flashlights because every area in the building was pitch black), up the stairs to the lobby and out to our truck. When we left, there were only 3 other cars in the parking lot. We were 1 of the last to leave. When my husband asked again about a refund, he was told that anyone leaving would not be charged for the night.
****Now we are disputing our credit card bill because they removed the 25% charge for noise and only gave us 25% off for the night that we couldn't stay because of their nonexistent emergency/safety plan!!!**

I stayed in a newly renovated room for two nights. It was lovely. Although the view from the parking lot does blow it all out of the water. As nice as the hotel is, seeing the rolling hills from on high before the mountains loom on the horizon, it's one heck of a location.

The staff were also accommodating, including when they helped an inexperienced traveler correct a booking mistake. 😅

I booked this for my son's 12th birthday specifically because it had an indoor pool. The weather was supposed to be awful(which it was) so I was going to cancel. We decided to go and just enjoy the pool since he loves to swim. Upon arrival, there was a big sign that said the pool was closed. The entire pool was ripped to shreds so clearly it was a planned remodel that the hotel never notified us and this was not advertised when booking the room. I feel this is horrible customer service as we should have been informed since it advertises an indoor pool. I feel we deserve at least a partial refund for this. The lobby smelled really off. Like sewage. It was so noisy at night that not one of us could sleep. Slamming doors and yelling in the hallways until 1am. My 6 year old started to cry because she couldn't fall asleep. The heater in the room also made such an awful noise when it turned on it woke us up each time. So we ended up just turning the heat so far down that while we were freezing, at least we weren't getting woken up. Breakfast was good. Simple. But the kids loved it. The dining hall however had half of it torn up. Ceiling tiles ripped out. Water puddles on the floor. Construction fans full of dust. Overall this was not a good experience at all
