My wife and I stayed here a few years ago, and found it clean, convent, and the staff were friendly and courteous. Fast forward to current day, and I found the service sub-standard. The rooms may still be clean, but I'll never know, because I won't stay here unless there's a change in ownership/management. After calling 3-4 times to inquire about availability and rates, I finally got a return call. The lady who called back was rude and argumentative. Basically, the rates are based on how many people are staying in the room. So for two people, I was told it was about $89 + tax. That's fine, but when I asked what's the difference in 1or 2 people staying, she got argumentative, and couldn't give me a reason. Personally, I found her demeanor off-putting, so I will take my business elsewhere.

A great experience staying a night here. I stayed there two years ago and still think about the views from this little motel. Such a comfy, country feel. Very clean. Loved it.

I'm glad places like this still exist in the world. Even down to the old-style TV.

I will forever recommend this place! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and clean. Mini fridge and microwave were both clean. It is in a great location just minutes from gas, food, and things to do. The views are beautiful. Each room gets their own key instead of a key card. We looked forever for a clean, reliable hotel near Smokehole and this was the best! Can’t wait to go back and stay again!

Nice little motel with a great view. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Free Wi-Fi and Netflix on the TV was a nice bonus. My only complaint is that the walls are VERY thin…so if you get stuck next to a room where small children are staying, it can be a little bothersome. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Our original Motel had fallen through. We were basically stranded without a room for the night, so decided to give this place a shot. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms weren't overly pricey. The room was clean, had comfy beds, had a fridge and microwave. It had all our basic needs and was roomy. We were so comfy we decided to cancel our reservation at the other place and stayed here the remainder of our stay. Highly recommend.

We stayed here while visiting in town. We had our usually room. Room was clean. Basic room, has a small television, microwave, small table to eat, one or two beds, bathroom with tub/shower, sink area. Some things to be looked into. The sink was very slow to drain, it would back up when barely running any water. Also wifi was non existence on this trip, unsure why, have stayed before in room and was able to get it before. It needs to be fixed or upgraded. Beds range between soft to very hard depending on room. Ours were firm, but not as hard as some of the other rooms.

First, the exterior of the Homestead motel is brick. Even though the motel is close to the major highway to, and from, Petersburg, WV, you don't hear traffic noise. The interior of the motel looks brand new. The beautiful bathroom appeared to have just been totally redone. Ditto the rest of the room. Everything was spotless. Real nice small refrigerator. Microwave oven. Good TV with 72 satellite / cable channels. I was given the password for the W-Fi and it worked beautifully. The bed was very comfortable. I stayed for 6 days and got a great rate! The motel sits on a high hill and the view of the mountains to the west was absolutely beautiful. BTW, I was there in July 2018. The owner / employees were very friendly and helpful. AND, the air conditioner worked perfectly. Yes, the beds are firm, but I like them better than a too soft bed. The staff told me about the Yokum Stables in Seneca Rocks with the horse ride up the 900 foot mountain. It's just $40 for a 2 hour ride! Wow, I highly recommend it! Some of the other motels in the area aren't so nice. One has the toilet basically in a closet! I'm not kidding. One in downtown Petersburg is dirty and has very bad customer ratings. I HIGHLY recommend the Homestead Motel. Then, go to Shop n' Save in Petersburg for your groceries. Super store!

Exactly what I expected for my stay as close to the Rocks as I could get on memorial day weekend. I love this place. Quiet!!! Beds were great, very spacious. TV and WiFi both worked perfect. Hot shower, yay! Enjoyed our stay we will go back, great view and thought it was awesome waking up hearing the cows in the lower field mooing for the farmer to come feed them. Clean I give an A+ The 1 and only thing I didn't like was the air freshener plugged into the wall. Highly allergic (at lot of people are). I removed it and put it in the dresser drawer and left the door open a little to air it out. I would recommend all the places down in the Seneca Rocks area to ditch these chemicals.
