This is a budget hotel - so yes it had very basic and somewhat aged but clean and comfortable furnishings. It is away from all other businesses and right on the Kanawha River, which is very pretty at night. The room was quiet, and I felt perfectly safe there. I actually went in person fairly early in the morning - I think around 830am - to see about getting a room. The owner?/manager? was very nice, and let me check in right then since the room was ready. After a bad experience with a broken plane and huge delays at the airport, I was very grateful! I was able to get food doordashed to my room with no issues. The price is decent too.

Classic updated 60's MOTEL...pull up to your first floor room and door! I travel for business and pay own expenses. So I am "value" conscious. I just want a clean room, comfortable bed, good shower and internet. Nothing fancy. BH delivers. If you are simply looking for a clean place to stay for a quick overnight! BH is great. And ask for riverside...great views of the sunset for sure.

Absolutely no stores nearby, staff limits 2 sodas per room via their vending machines even though you pay 2$ a pop. They are very rude. You can have 0 visitors. They will randomly wake you up to check your room, you have to take your own garbage daily to their dumpster. They don't salt the sidewalks or parking lot. Expired food in the vending machines. Half of their rooms bathrooms have a draining issue or the water pressure is almost non existent. Oh and they're INFESTED WITH GERMAN ROACHES.

My son and I stayed here while traveling. The rooms were clean as was the entire property. The hot water lasted throughout our showers. There was a microwave and fridge. It was quiet and had an amazing view of the river. The girl who checked me in was sweet and professional. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

We spent 1 night there on our way home to KC. Check in went smoothly, the room was clean, bed was comfy and the host family was so nice! The location is right next to the river and has a lovely view. We happened to check in near sunset and the sunset was beautiful! Don't hesitate to stay...you can't beat the price! Patty ODonnell

My aunt just came home from staying in this hotel she had the worst experience in her 60 yrs she said the staff was very rude and told her she is not to have visitors even though she is handy cap and has to have people come help her do things she was supposed to get a vacation away from the house and these people harassed her The Whole time

80$ smells like straight ammonia almost threw up. bathroom flushed once didnt fill up again had to dump water in to get it to flush and I had only peed.
