The area is particularly captivating during the winter months, when the surrounding vegetation creates a striking contrast against the snow-covered landscape. Many visitors have commented on the surprising warmth and greenery observed, suggesting a microclimate that provides refuge from the colder temperatures experienced elsewhere in the region.

Key Features and Amenities: While the primary attraction is the view, the Scenic Overlook also provides a small, well-maintained visitor center. There has a great view of the New River Bridge, and you need to take a stairs down hill a few minutes to here. If in winter, be careful the stairs may be slippery. We are road traveller who drive from Toronto to Florida, this is our second day driving, when we reach here, we feel there already have green plant in winter, which we almost reach the warm place.

We went on a pretty crappy day but still this spot provided us with some great views of the New River Gorge Bridge. My only issue is that the view is obstructed basically everywhere but the main overlook for some reason. However this is a great stop on the driving tour for the park and even just to stop for fun!

This scenic overlook gives wonderful views of The Gorge Bridge. Take some stunning pictures of fall foliage and high soaring birds from this lofty advantage.

Great spot to have a gorgeous view of the Bridge and River. Is a bit of a hike down, all wooden walkways through the woods. Lots of steps, easy on the way down but you'll have a uphill climb on the way back, just be prepared if you do a lot of walking. Area can fit about 15 people, have been a few times has never been overly busy. Enjoy your view!

This is worth going out of your way to see it. It’s such an amazing view that it’s actually job dropping when you get to certain pull offs. Down at the bottom, there’s a train track or train roll through frequently. Plus, there are white water rafters that you can see. In a great visitor/welcome center when you first pull in. I strongly recommend making this part of your travel plans. You will not be disappointed.

We stopped here on a foggy day so we didn't get the whole effect but the fog somehow made the experience kind of cool. Definitely worth the stop

It's a pretty kewl structure. 2nd highest bridge in North America. 13th highest bridge in the world. I can't even fathom how one would even start to build that. Maneuvering the BIG, heavy and long pieces. Also, the scenery of the gorge like setting within the mountains is beautiful.
