Have stayed a the private cabins on Cast Away owned by Mike and have never had a bad experience. Mike has always treated us as well as you can be treated and always wants to lend a hand or give out helpful information on the area. The main RV park below the cabins had a ownership change and the new management seems to be very nice.

We stayed in the cabins on the hill above the RV park. They were well maintained and very clean. Everything needed in kitchen for cooking. You can't find a better view of the river and distant mountains. Only down side is RV owner Chuck lacks customer service skills. They have a 5 MPH speed limit in the RV park, I could not agree more. We were members at a private RV park in Missouri for years and know the imprortance of safe speed limits in a park. He stopped one of our drivers with a passive aggressive attitude that made us uncomfortable and feel unwelcome. We were not speeding, I was watching the speedometer when the driver was stopped and we were doing 5 MPH. We witnessed this negitive behavior one other time when my wife was driving and not speeding. His wife LaVon was great.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on a business trip. Loved it! Amazing customer service from the owner LaVon. She was very friendly and knowledgable about the area. Made us feel at home! The building is beautiful. The owners live upstairs and there are two rooms and a suite room downstairs. Our room was very spacious and had a mini fridge and microwave and she had stocked us up with some snacks like Gatorade and fruit. The only thing missing was a TV? Not sure if the other rooms have one or not, but we stayed in the suite and it didnt. The suite is actually two areas that are separated by a door. So it would be perfect for a family with kids, other than the fact that the smaller section does not have its own bathroom. But our room had a porch that looked out over the Kenai river and it was lovely. They also have an RV park and some cabins on site. The RV park is neat, it has a laundromat and satellite dishes. Didn't check out the cabins so not sure about those. We did walk down to the river and they have a nice fishing deck. All in all, we liked it and would stay there again. It's more like a bed and breakfast without the breakfast. 🙂 just bring a laptop if you want to watch a movie!

Stayed at Mike' cabins for the 10th year in a row that overlook the Cast Away and the river below. Mike, Lavon and Chuck are knowledgeable and can help you with guides for fishing or places to eat or see. But the main reason we keep coming back is because of the view and the condition of the cabins.
