Krog's Kamp is older but lodge has been renovated. Great location on the Kenai River. I was their first guest of the 2024 season. I don't fish but it was a great quiet spot to rest and relax. The eagle's nest in the middle of the river on the island was fun to watch. My lodge suite was spacious and comfortable. Do call and make inquiry.

First time in the area and Krog's Camp had been recommended. Mel was welcoming and even upgraded our accommodations.
Our first experience salmon fishing and EVERYONE was very helpful (special shoutout to Jack & Logan for helping out these rookie midwesterners). Great location on the Kenai River.

We stayed at Krog's Kamp for 7 days and had the most amazing time! Mel took care of everything for all our adventures in the Kenai Peninsula and Josh was there to help with all our needs. They felt like family. They provided all the gear for fishing off-site. When King Salmon wasn't running Mel switched us to Trout Fishing. Mel helped us to get our fish shipped home. The property is beautiful with the views on the Kenai River along with an Eagle nest. The accommodations were fantastic. I would highly recommend this location. We look forward to visiting Mel again!

My name is Cal Sibert,I got to stay at Krog's Kamp a few years ago as part of a dream vacation that was organized for me after going on disability. Mel donated our lodging for one week, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The staff was always right there if you needed anything, and everyone was treated as family. We got to catch a 68.7 pound king when the guide took us to a spot Mel suggested. We also did a fly-in to a spot where we got to watch a brown bear mere feet away(who was also fishing) while we fished for sockeye. Mel set it all up. Anything you want to do, she can help so you just get to enjoy your time. Evenings were typically spent around the campfire with any who wished to join in. Great stories were the highlight. The river and scenery is beautiful. If you have never been to Alaska, noone can adequately describe the beauty, you have to see it for yourself. I definitely recommend Krog's Kamp, the one thing I would suggest though is to bring your own rods and reels, if you're like me. it's just better to use your own gear. We also had moose right outside our cabin which was pretty cool one day.

This is a very special place in the world. I spent many joyous days visiting. Listening to the river music, being able to catch once in a lifetime quality fish from your front deck (as well as numerous others). The serenity and overall ambience is outstanding. First visited in the 1980s. Always clean, friendly and extremely reasonable as well as safe and friendly. Wish I could live there.

Me and my wife were vacation from san Antonio tx. and made reservations here. I was so impressed with the hospitality we were shown while we were there, Mel checked on us to make sure we didn't get lost on the way and I have to say was the most pleasant week Ive had in sometime. We spent a lot of time speaking with mel and bob in there home and felt like part of the family. She directed us to all of the best views and tourist attractions and set up the best halibut fishing trip ive ever been on. Eric made sure I had fishing gear and even set us up for a fishing trip in the lagoon in homer for silver salmon. Just so you get an idea on our fishing trip for halibut the weather was rainy and mel set us up with gear so we would stay dry as we were unprepared. Eric froze our fish and set me up for shipping on plane. We were very sad to leave such a welcoming get away and I highly recommend that you stay here if you get a chance. We are definitely planning a trip back to krogs kamp next year.

My wife and I & another couple spent a very pleasant and enjoyable week at Krogs Kamp. The facilities were good and Mel, Bob, and Eric were very helpful hosts. This was our 12th visit to Alaska from our home in Pa.. A visit to Alaska is a bucket list place to go. It's amazing. We would recommend staying at Krogs Kamp and suggest seeing a Hobo Jim show in Soldotna when you are not fishing or sightseeing.
