Rimfire is our favorite place to stay at Snowshoe! We love being in the heart of the village and that it is a true ski in-out property (especially without having to listen snow grooming machines all night). Walking to dinner and having the hot tubs/sauna are critical after a long day on the mountain. Each property is privately owned, so each is uniquely decorated. We always use 107/108 and book directly through Snowshoe (it has been beautifully updated and has VERY comfortable queen beds), but you can't go wrong with any Brigham quality property. Once we arrive to the mountain, I love not having to get back into our car until it is time to go home.

Let's start with the fact that Rimfire Lodge is more like a building with a lot of rooms that are closer to airbnbs' concept than a hotel.
So the experience will be different depending on the room. I have stayed in room #321. So the review will have 2 parts: first - the lodge in general, second - the room.
1 Part. Lodge.
The location is great, close to the parking(outside across the road or heated under the building(this one is $20 per day extra)). It is also close to a tiny grocery store, split rock pools(included if you book with a snowshoe website), slopes, and rentals. It is just right in the middle of the village:)
The interior is nice, clean, and a little outdated, but it is definitely very well taken care of.
The Lodge has a wellness center(10.00 am to 10.00pm) with two hot tubes(we were lucky 2 years in a row, it was not crowded at all), little gym and sauna(it was out of order this winter and it was the only major disappointment of this trip. Be aware that it looked like they won't fix it any time soon).
2 Part. Room #321
Looks like the room was renovated recently. The bathroom was clean with new appliances and a great amount of clean towels. Tip - they only provide a couple of tiny bottles of shampoo and shower gel and a piece of soap. You might want to bring your own.
The kitchen had a Keurig coffee maker. I wish they had just a normal one since I am not a fan of Keurig. But it did it job, providing enough caffeine so we could make it to the Starbucks in the same building:)
The rest of the kitchen is pretty standard: mini fridge, mini stove. Dishes and pans. Nothing really fancy, but we were able to cook there during our stay. Just an idea - stakes and vegetables is a great dinner meal after a day on slopes;)
There is no dishwasher in the room. They provide dish soap, but no sponge. If you think that you would need to reuse dishes, you might want to grab your own sponge.
Bed was comfortable with crispy clean sheets and a nice firm mattress. The gas fireplace is also a great addition.
Another thing to be aware of - this room window facing the village, so it might be a little loud before 9 or 10 pm.
Overall great stay, but I will try to call them to ask about the sauna before booking next winter. Hopefully, it will be working, and I won't have to look for another accommodation in Snowshoe.
The last useful tip - it is not a hotel, so the check-in should be done in one of the Snowshoe check-in locations. Just follow the signs for check-in once you are in the village.

Total cost for 1 night 1bd/1ba was $476. $99 cleaning fee when the room smelled like bacon grease. Very poor service at the front desk and concierge. Did not make an effort to make our stay enjoyable and were rude/confusing. They would not allow early check in or take our baggage because they "had no secure place to put it"- I've stayed in dozens of hotels and this has never happened. Room was very sparsely stocked. Windows were non functional and stuck. Room smelled of bacon grease even after airing out the window. Hallway smelled worse, like mold and weed. The split rocks pool reserve system wasn't communicated and neither was the ridiculous policy of not restocking bathroom amenities such as shampoo. Very disappointing, at least we only stayed one night, but getting kicked out at 10am as opposed to the standard 11 was the cherry on top. Wouldn't reccomend a stay here to anyone with a modicum of standards.

Rimfire 301 Studio. VERY dated. Broken cabinets and decades old appliances. Murphy Bed and sleeper sofa were just ok. At least upgrade the bedding. Sheets and pillow cases were recent but no more. Comically small TV for 2025. Bathroom had been updated and was solid. Central Village location is great but this particular unit desperately needs some updates.

We got a suite. The rooms are definitely not worth the price and fees attached. Your suite is the size of an economy sized Super 8 room with a "living room", "kitchen", and "bedroom".

The foot of your bed is kind of cool in that you can sit on it while you wash the dishes that are dirty in the cabinet and drawer while you fry up your eggs.

Also, make sure you wear yourself out with all the outdoor activities. Otherwise, you won't be able to sleep during the heavy late night foot traffic and yelling of your fellow guests.

Also, the bed and "couch" feel as though they came from leftover 2024 Paris Olympics furniture. We stayed only the first night of our trip.

We have zero complaints with the staff. We didn't interact much, but when we did, it was always very pleasant.

ROOM 101 - THE WORST ROOM EVER
I'm writing this review to spare anyone from booking Room 101. It's the worst room ever! We are here right now and I don't think I can last for 2 more nights. I don't usually get bothered by noise. We normally bring a sound machine when we travel to mask the noise from outside. We have gone to hotels that have a lot of traffic outside / close to the elevator, but this room, you will not be able to mask the noise coming from outside even with a sound machine. Thin old wooden walls. The hot tub is just outside that people are using it 'til past midnight. No privacy. Also you can hear the footsteps from the stairs and screeching of chairs and tables from the room above. This was happening 'til 3am. Almost all of the outlets in the room don’t work. There is no management in the property so no regulations whatsoever. You will not want to book this room if you are a light sleeper.

This is by far the worst stay we've had. And hopefully I can save someone from booking this room.

Normally, these are decent rooms for the price, but this trip disappointed. Definitely got an older room this time. Lighting was very dim and hard to see anything. The wall mounted blow dryer in the bathroom was hanging off. There was a lamp I had to unplug because there was no switch controlling the outlet, and the switch on the lamp was broken. Roku kept going back to the main menu in the middle of movies at night. Still way better than commuting to the mountain though.

Room 253 has issues. The toilet barely flushes...my 3 yr old clogged it up and we had to plunge this. The pullout sofa is broken. The heat is extreme. We turned the temp to 60Β° and it was still sweltering hot. We had to sleep with the balcony doors open. The hot water would only make it through one ~7 min shower then my husband tried to shower and no hot water. Room is overall a dump. Just dated etc...the front desk person wouldn't even do anything for us so we just felt really ticked off after this whole experience.
