First I want to say this review has nothing to do with staff, maintenance or the ranger they were super nice, helpful, accommodating and fair. The camp spaces are too close together and you have no privacy or enough room. On weekends people competing in bass tournaments are extremely rude, have no etiquette and entitled. We had a spot reserved and when we arrived they had taken our reserved camping spot, the ranger was helpful though and we were issued a refund for 1 night. When we went out fishing all day tournament bass races by,cut in front of where we were fishing. Had my young nephew not been with me I would have went off.

This campground was very pretty and the sites are a good size. The playgrounds are excellent. The only problem we had was when the mowing crew came in they mowed through our campsite while we were sitting at the picnic table (right beside our legs). They threw debris onto my brother that caused a few welts. His 1 year old daughter was standing beside him and almost got hit with a piece of debris. They need to make the Check out time earlier or have the mowing crew come in after checkout time.

Maybe too early in the season, but very little maintenance has been performed. Fortunately most camp sites had been mowed, but no tables were moved to mow under them and no trimming was apparent. The joint almost seemed neglected and sad when you think it’s ‘maintained’ by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Beautiful campground, awesome staff ,well kept grounds.. only complaint is children running wild through your private site ,toddlers screaming all night,no respect for others...come on parents, others want to enjoy what they pay for also.

We just had our first camping experience here and thoroughly enjoyed our week. Our Granddaughter loved the playground, us big kids too. The bath house was very clean and the grounds are very well kept as well. Lots of space between campers, and we camped right on the river which was beautiful...not good fishing at the time but there were a lot of folks trying. Many kayaked and floated in the river which looked like a lot of fun. The road to the campground is a bit narrow and winding, take it slow and you'll be fine. We are already planning another camping trip next month to go back. Just beautiful and peaceful, definitely unplugged as there is no WIFI or cell phone without a cell booster from what other campers told us.

The campground itself was great, sites were clean, the staff we met were nice. We came on Monday 6/8/20 and the bath house was working just fine.. by the morning of 6/9/20 we weren't able to use it at all, the doors were shut and locked. I finally seen a volunteer riding around and asked about them and she said, "She had no clue when they'd be fixed, it was up to the Army Corp, they aren't getting water to them (probably because the lines and system are more than 20 years old." We were fortunate to be staying in a camper which had a toilet otherwise we'd have had to have went all the way back out to the other side of the campground, in order to just use the restroom.. We ended up having to tear down a day before leaving to empty our sewage tank (we just got a simple power site because we were close to a bathroom) and set back up. We went to the second one on 6/9/20 to try and shower and it was closed and locked as well, so we ended up having to go to the complete other side of the campground to take a shower for almost two days then they finally got the second one back up and working. I spoke to a few people who came in later through the week and they weren't even telling new guests that the bathrooms/showers closest to the Snak Shak weren't working, which left some people having to drive a ways just to pee... If the bathrooms were fixed this campground would've received 5 stars easily but seeing as they still weren't working when we left thats a huge issue. Hopefully anyone going reads this review and makes sure they're working again especially if they're camping in a tent down that way. Lovely campground other than that. The kids had beautiful new play equipment and plenty of activities to do. ||Power went out during a storm due to a tree falling on the power line and they had it fixed in a jiffy. As I stated above everything was great besides they didn't seem to care to fix the bathroom in a timely manner so people camping could shower near their chosen campsite instead of having to get in the vehicle every time they needed to do number one.. another perk of this place is they were thoughtful enough to get handicap tables outside, thats awesome to me. 3 out of 5 stars from me but with the bathroom issue fixed it could've EASILY been a 5 out of 5!

Beautiful campground, nice people, but fair warning there is no cell service there!!! Like none at all!!! Great for a get away but don't expect to be able to stream movies or upload your beautiful pictures till you go back home.
Clean, beautiful and spacious!!! Reasonably priced, and small store 1/4 mile away for camping gear/charcoal, milk ect.

I grew up going to this campground. The water gives both a swimming and a fishing experience. You get an option to have an electric hookup. The bathrooms have showers, they even had them in 1987 when I was 10. This place is perfect for those that might need some creature comforts. Keep in mind, its still an outdoors experience, there will be bugs and wild animals.
