Go elsewhere. Spend more money if you have to.

We got a room for a Thursday night. Quick trip. Check in isn't until 2, fine. Fair enough. We showed up at 1:57, and they told us to wait until 2 to check in. We weren't the only ones. The lobby was full of other people with their luggage that they had told to wait. Best part being their wall clock was nearly 10 minutes slow. Also parking is extra, have an extra $18 on you for the right to park your vehicle at this place.

The room itself was clean enough, but very old and maintained to a literal bare minimum. The blinds on the window were broken.(Not great when you're on the ground floor right next to the front door. Zero privacy. Nothing like having people watch you while you sleep.) Theres no AC in the units. You get a box fan. The bed was not good. Old queen mattress with a box spring that felt like it had expired long ago.

The front desk staff were nice when they weren't telling you to go bother someone else until 2, but Jesus. We paid $170 for a room for the night. The area has plenty of other places to stay, go there until this complex understands the need to be competitive in a marketplace.

Nice enough at first but then there wasn't any hot water to shower for the last three days we were there. We told them about it several times, still no results. Not sure what the problem was. Seemed as though they spent more time counting coins than taking care of their apartments. We were accused of not turning in the garage door opener and parking pass when we left yet I made a point of taking both items in and handing them to the older man who was at the front desk.

I was provided this room while my daughter was in the intensive care unit, burn wing. I am so grateful for a chance to be closer to her. The first week after her accident, my family and I drove from Ocean Shores to Seattle and back, round trip, every day for a week--about 6 hrs/day, not counting stops for gas or meals or bathroom breaks. It was brutal. We were all exhausted.
When we were given this chance, we were so grateful to be close to my daughter while she was having her many surgeries. She has one more to go before getting out of the ICU.
Although the apartment is relatively small, it is quiet, clean, and provides us a place to rest. We are, also close to the hospital, which is very important.
The apartment unit has a refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffeemaker, and plenty of electrical outlets. It has a storage closet, extra pillows, and towels. While it doesn't have maid service and we take care of keeping our rooms picked up, this isn't difficult in the compact apartment.

Overall the stay wasn't bad. The location is wonderful to get to Pike Place and Capitol Hill, whether it be by walking or other transportation. There are a few public transit stations located nearby within short walking distance.
I will say it is very outdated. If it is labeled as "modern" online I assure you otherwise. Everything in our place was from the late 80's and early 90's. It was nice to have a kitchen for food, but the equipment offered (knife, cutting board) is inadequate for any cooking. The fridge randomly defrosted at times and the thermostat did not work at all. Beds are ok at best for comfort as we had two single sized ones.
Staff is friendly, very helpful. Overall not bad, but the interior needs much improvement to be considered "modern."

I went to Seattle on memorial day without planning it in advance. This is the least expensive place I was able to find for that weekend and it was still pricey ($220 a night plus additional charge for parking inside). The room was very basic and outdated. The carpet was worn out and had some bleached spots and a burn mark (hole). The caulking around the bathtub was lifting. Somehow it felt like an apartment rather than a hotel. I did not see much people there. I saw some when I was on my way out or in. The only staff I saw was the front desk person when I checked in and out.

We had a family member in Harborview ,as she had an emergency aneurism. Being from eastern WA, we really weren't too familiar for places to stay. and still be near the hospital. We were told that First Hill was mainly for The Hutch cancer patients and their families,so we were grateful that we were able to stay there. Already traumatized, we found The Hill to be a wonderful place to stay for the duration and also for return visits. When seeing the negative reviews, I'm surprised. Of course, it's not a 5 star hotel, but it was clean, welcoming and not their fault that there's no restaurant nearby. We brought groceries and cooked our own meals--happy to be able to do it too. Thank you, First Hill, for welcoming us the way you did. By the way, later on, we saw you featured on the TV show, ABC's "20-20". Mental hugs to all of you!

I reserved the room for a trip to Seattle to see a concert at Safeco Field. It was a decent price and a 30 minute walk to the venue. Little did I realize that it is in a really hilly area and not fit for walking to and definitely not from the waterfront area. It is however, very close and easily walkable to Seattle University and all the surrounding restaurants and shops. This place might be good for out of town parents visiting their college students. Also, the off street parking they have is a plus in that neighborhood. The room was essentially a one bedroom apartment. It was complete with a small bathroom and kitchen. The neighborhood was quiet for a summer weekend and I felt extra safe that the main door to the building is locked at night (so don't forget your keys!)

Horrible place to be stuck at.

The staff wasn't helpful at all, didn't listen when I had stayed there for a couple weeks. They had to change the room every couple of days, and finally, when the staff here had said "We don't have to move you any longer," resulted in staying at a room where the neighbor's are very loud and kept me awake at night, which was interesting at first. Then became obnoxious. The walls are the worst. Horribly thin.

Don't bother with First Hill Apartments.
