Took a trip on the Cass Scenic Railroad. Had a great time!! Travelled with some really fun people and a great tour guide who shared the area’s history. Loved the snow storm which gave us great views and loved the sounds the train whistle.

While there we visited The Company Store, ate at Station 2 (meal included with the train excursion).

There were several families with small children sharing our ride, and the kids loved it for about 4 hrs… that last hr on the train was trying for them, so I would not recommend the 5 hr tour for small. It’s a really long time.

We visited in 2024 for the Christmas train. We stayed in one of the company houses in town and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Shays restaurant in the company store. The surrounding scenery is beautiful and truly puts you in a different era and time. The train experience was great and you truly felt like you were hopping on a train in 1935 and heading on a journey. I recommend it to anyone with younger kids and don't wish to do one of the longer train rides as this was about about an hour long... Which is perfect for our littles.

We road the Greenbriar Express Winter Special! It was amazing! The conductors Dillon and Alex were amazing with our 14 year old son that is a train enthusiast. It was his birthday and he also has autism and he rode with the conductors and at the end of the ride they let him check out the engine! They were super amazing and went out their way to make his day special… the whole staff was absolutely the best! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This was our landing point after our 78 mile bike ride on Greenbrier Trail. Booking was easy and efficient online. We were originally worried about check-in (the unknown) since we were arriving on bikes at sunset, but the process was seamless and easy. We got there before the general store/check in closed, but there was a key pick up if you did arrive after hours. We stayed in cabin or rather “Company House” 121 for one night and it had everything we needed and more. The cabin was HUGE and well appointed. It even had a ramp up to the door so we could easily get our eBikes in to get charged. We woke up refreshed with a hot cup of coffee ready for the 78 mile trek back to Lewisburg.

Cute little town with cheap houses right next to snowshoe. I ended up leaving my wallet here and the assistant superintendent went out of him way to ship it back for me, great people and great town.

We spent three days and two nights at wonderful Cass and loved the experience. We rented one of the original houses which was clean and very quiet. While we were there it was pretty quiet not much bustle to the place at all and we all appreciated that fact. Before we left we took a very scenic ride to the top of Bald Knob Mountain that was quite an experience. We are planning a return visit soon!
