Our home, and it really feels like home, the last 2 days has been magical. We've been the only guests and have enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of Anne and Mark at the Knapps Creek Trout Lodge. Fishing was great as I stopped counting after 18.

We stayed at Knapp's Creek Lodge for a long weekend in May. Upon arrival we were greeted by Anne's father who was doing yardwork. He gave us the grand tour of the Lodge and was very welcoming. We enjoyed talking with him as he was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a lot of tips on things to do. When we eventually met Anne and Mark it felt like we were meeting family. as we talked about our families and experiences and could've talked for hours. |This was our first time in West Virginia and we came to bike ride on the Greenbrier River trail which is a hidden gem in West Virginia. We decided on Marlington as it was the halfway point of the trail and our dog Remi was very welcomed by not just Mark and Anne, but also by their dog Smokey and Owen, a buddy of Smokey's from town. |The Lodge is peaceful and relaxing and the breakfast's were delicious. It is a very quaint town and everyone was welcoming and friendly. We would love to come back again with our daughter and grand-daughter to bike ride again as well as to try Fly fishing. ||Doreen and Dave

Spacious, comfortable lodging with a picturesque back porch setting overlooking Knapps Creek & the hills outside Marlinton. The hosts provide first class touches such as fresh fruit & vegetables as well as Olay soap. Breakfasts are both freshly prepared & very tasty. Additionally, the dinner options are excellent. Great place for a peaceful getaway in the WV mountains.

Ann and her husband Mark as well as her father were wonderful. |They were so patient with my four grandsons who had never touched a fly rod before showing up at Knapps Creek Lodge.|Their equipment was excellent and had everything that was needed for boys ages 11-16, the boys caught fish and the meals and accommodations were first rate.

Anne and Mark were amazing hosts! This was our first time fly fishing and we absolutely fell in love with the sport. The lodge was beautiful and everything about the trip was serene. Anyone looking for a relaxing getaway or an amazing spot for fly fishing, this is certainly the place. 100% will be going back!

We have stayed and fished with the hospitality and guidance of many boutique lodges. The experience at Knapps Creek was the best in every aspect. Smokey the lodge mascot made out experience all the more special! Thanks, Anne and Mark!

Go! Terrific wk! Memorable. Will return. Anne, the Lodge manager, and experienced fly fishing guide herself, pays attention to every detail of your day. The day begins with a delicious breakfast served on the expansive high-trussed back porch, with tumbling water sounding in the nearby creek. Perfect way to start a day! Anne and Mark served as river guides/fly fishing instructors for me and my husband, offering improvement to techniques and additional insight and explanations. Superb job! Great people! Comfortable lodge. Delicious food. Anne gives great advice on visiting local points of interest as well. Had a great time!

Over the last several years I've been organizing a bunch of cycling and hiking trips for my friends and myself in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, and West Virginia. We stay overnight in various B&Bs, hotels, motels, etc.

My stay at Knapp's Creek has been my best. I think my friends too were delighted.

The lodge is genuinely beautiful because it feels like home. Anne and Mark are fabulous hosts. And the food was absolutely wonderful.

We were a group of 8 cyclists riding the Greenbrier River Trail. (I think Anne called us 'functioning adults' because she was a little surprised to see 8 people who were fairly well coordinated and seem to have their act together!) The Trail is lovely. But for me a full 50% of the fun was just staying at the lodge.

I'm working on a repeat trip, hopefully one where we can spend more time at the lodge and do other things besides cycling.

Also, while I had been to West Virginia earlier, this was my longest West Virginia trip. I hadn't previously realized how especially friendly people are in West Virginia.
